Kageyama sighed, taking a sip of his milk and watching the others have fun. He wasn't really sure why he had agreed to come to this Christmas party. Maybe it was because he didn't have anything better to do. Or maybe it was because of a particular red head... Kageyama's eyes locked on Hinata, who looked like he was talking very enthusiastically about something, smiling widely. Kageyama flushed slightly and looked away. God dammit, that dumbass... Why did he have to like him? There was just something about him, something different... Kageyama groaned, resting his head on the wall behind him.
"Hey Kageyama!"
Kageyama quickly looked at the boy before him, shocked slightly. "Uh, hi, Hinata."
"What are you doing over here?" Hinata asked, still beaming. He was always so happy. That was something which Kageyama both admired and disliked at the same time. Ugh, why did he have to be so complicated?
"Nothing."
"Come on, join the fun! You're missing out! Nishinoya senpai was just telling us a story!"
"I'm perfectly fine over here thanks," Kageyama replied icily, getting jealous over Hinata's praise of Nishinoya. He knew that it was stupid, feeling that. He had no right to. Him and Hinata weren't together, and they never would be. Besides, Hinata was probably straight.
"Why are you so grumpy?"
"I'm not grumpy!"
"Well you're sure acting like it!"
Kageyama walked away quickly, scowling, but Hinata soon caught up and pulled him back. "Kageyama, what's wrong?"
"I-"
Kageyama was cut off by a wolf whistle from Tanaka. Kageyama looked to him as the older boy doubled over laughing. Nishinoya was next to him smirking.
"What?" Kageyama snapped, irrated at not understanding the joke.
"Look up."
Kageyama did as he said, and immediately blushed. Above him and Hinata was mistletoe. Hinata saw it too and went nearly as red as his hair. Kageyama caught his eye, then quickly looked away. He didn't know what to do.
"Come on guys, it's tradition!"
Kageyama was about to argue when Hinata pulled him down by his collar and pressed their lips together. For a split second Kageyama was frozen, but then he responded and kissed back. Their kiss was lengthy, and Kageyama's mind was blank, only thinking of Hinata. When he finally pulled away, Kageyama turned the darkest shade of red possible. He looked around to see everyone else staring.
Suddenly Tanaka groaned, and Nishinoya laughed. "You owe me ¥2000."
Kageyama chanced a look at Hinata, and saw him looking back with a red face, looking breathless and happy. He decided to risk it and pulled him for another kiss. Hinata wrapped his arms around his neck and Kageyama pulled the smaller boy as close as possible.
Upon pulling apart, they both stared at each other, smiling.
"You have a nice smile," Hinata said, making the other boy blush.
"So, uh, would you... um, be my b-boyfriend?" Kageyama cursed how the adorable boy had made him flustered. He was so used to being composed.
"I'd love to," Hinata beamed.
"Woo hoo!" Nishinoya yelled, jumping up onto Asahi, pressing a kiss to his lips. "Congrats guys!"
Asahi chuckled nervously.
"Hey, where's Sugawara-san and Daichi-san?" Hinata asked. Just as he'd said that, Daichi and Suga entered the gym, holding hands and looked dishevelled.
"Uh, hey guys?" Everyone had already suspected the two were together, though no one had said anything. They were the mum and dad of the group. It was actually pretty cute.
Suga noticed Hinata and Kageyama's position, standing close together with Hinata arms still around Kageyama's neck. "Oh, are you two together now?"
Hinata nodded, and Suga smiled. "Congratulations!"
Yachi looked around in confusion. "So... is there anyone apart from Tanaka who isn't with another guy from the team?"
Her girlfriend, the beautiful manager of the team, Kiyoko pushed her glasses up her nose. "To my knowledge, just Tsukkiyama and Yamaguchi."
Yamaguchi chuckled nervously. "Uh, yeah."
Tsukkiyama sighed. "It's fine. You might as well tell them."
"R-really?!" Yamaguchi smiled widely, gripping onto Tsukkiyama's arm. "Okay! Tsukki and I are together!"
At that, Nishinoya started laughing. "Tanaka is the only single one!"
"Hey! It's not funny!"
Kageyama chuckled, loud enough only for Hinata to hear. He looked down at his beautiful boyfriend, who gazed back up at him. Boyfriend. He loved saying that. How the hell did he get so lucky? He leaned down to kiss him again.
He was so glad he'd come to the Christmas party.
