The Captain sat at his desk, scrolling through his e-mails, but as a result of certain things happening at home he had become more irritable than usual.
''Jesus Christ...MICHAEL!''
''Yes sir!''
Michael carefully approached the office, as to make sure the Captain did not walk into him.
''Where's that damn file?!'' the Captain shouted.
''I assume you mean the file on the McClaven-Klitchkoven murder,''
''What other file would I be talking about?!''
''Sorry sir, I thought you may have been talking about a different case fi--''
''Why would I be talking about a different case when you've been assigned to this one for 3 years!''
''I know sir but there are hardly any leads for me to work with...''
''You were transfered here because this precinct had the most evidence on this murder you've been working on, and if you think you can slack off about it then you can think again.''
''I'm not slacking sir, just waiting for a new lead,''
''Why wait? Isn't there enough information for you to conduct your search with here?''
''With all due respect sir, the information provided only gives me a few months worth...and to be honest...it's not that great.''
''What do you mean 'it's not that great'? I've had my top detectives working on this case for months and they've come up with more information than you!''
''I know Sir!''
Silence fell all around the office. Movement had reduced outside the office to a few muffled footsteps making there way around from desk to desk. No-one had spoken to the Captain like that in years.
''What?''
''I'm sorry sir but it's been so annoying to not have anything to work on...''
''Then go get some work done!''
Michael slammed his hands on the desk.
''I've been on the hunt for this guy for years. I know that I've been supplied with the only evidence you can supply me with. But I also know this perp is still on the run with a smirk on his punk-ass face, knowing he got away with 6 murders in one night!''
The muffled footsteps had stopped outside the office and the only thing that could be heard was the occasional tapping of keys on the computer keyboards.
''Get out of my office Detective. There's a drug case you can work on with the sergent,''
''Yes sir,''
