Leah Avery ^^^

My name is Leah Avery. I am 17 years old. I have hazel eyes, brown hair with blonde highlights. And right now I'm running late for school. I pick up my bag from my bed and rushed downstairs to find my dad in the kitchen making eggs and with toast. I smile as the aroma of eggs and toast filled nostrils. I walked up to island in middle of the kitchen and pulled out the high chair.

My dad looked up from his eggs and turned to me and smiled, "Good morning, sweetheart." He placed a plate of eggs and toast in front me.

I looked at him and smiled, "Good morning, Daddy."

"How are you this beautiful morning?" He said as he turned off the stove and sat across from me with his plate.

I took a bite of my toast and eggs and smiled, "I am fantabulous."

He laughed, "you love that word, don't you?"

"Yup!" I paused, and then asked, "how are you, dad?", said as I finished my eggs and toast.

He sighed and said, "I'm good, sweetheart." He eyes said otherwise.
It's been almost 6 months since my mom past away. She had a major heart attack which she couldn't recover from.

I got up from my chair and went around the island to hug him. He returned the hug instantly. Smiled and pulled away, "Can you give a ride to school. I think Ryder already left for school."

He nodded. "He had football practice this morning so he had to leave early. I'll give a ride to school."

Ryder and I were a year and a month apart. We got along perfectly like regular siblings. He's my older brother and he played football every since he was a able to walk. He had natural brown hair with blond streaks like me and he had dark green eyes. I knew everything about and he knew everything about me. We rarely ever fought but we would play fight until someone crossed the line. After mom passed away, he buried himself in football and school work and taking extra classes for colleges.

It was a quiet ride to school. As soon as I stepped into the school front doors is when I heard the bell ring. Rriiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg. I rushed to my first period class. I walked into the class and took my seat in the last row near the window. I took deep breath and sighed. My friend, Sara Chaudary, sat down behind me and smiled. "Hey there, pumpkin," she smirked.

Sara was Pakistani and my best friend. She had dark brown eyes and long dark wavy/silky hair that fall into all the right places. She was sort of slightly dark tan, always smiled brightly, especially with the racial criticisms and racists nicknames she gets sometimes in and out of school. I've known her all through out 8th grade and all of high school. We were both juniors.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Hey there, Unicorn."

She chuckled and put her phone in front of her face that was covered with a unicorn case. "YAS, I'm a unicorn!" I laughed at her childishness.

She smiled brightly, "What's up, bestfriend."

"I was almost late," I replied.

She laughed, "I know, I called you almost 10 times and you didn't pick up once."

I gasped and took out my phone from my back pocket. There I saw her name with missed calls ten times. I looked at her and gave her a sheepish smile. She laughed at my face and said, "You're too adorable." I frowned.

Even though we were the same age, she treated me like her younger sister. I loved her for it, knowing she always looked out for me.
I shook my head and turned around when our teacher, Mrs. Wilson, enter the room.

"Good morning class! I hope you had a good weekend, if not, I'm sorry. But we have a new student today." She chirped loudly.

All heads turn to the door. A boy walks in, he was pretty masculine, well built. He had a dark jeans on and black shirt and with black and white Jordans. He had fair skin with slight tan, green hazel eyes, black hair and this boyish smirk. He scanned over the class carelessly. His eyes stopped on me and we locked eyes. I wasn't going to break contact but my teacher spoke impatiently.

"Well? Introduce yourself," Mrs. Wilson said impatiently.

He open his mouth and spoke in a deep voice, "My name is Ryan Vinci."

All the girls besides me and Sara giggled and batted their eyes. Oh great, i thought, mentally rolling eyes. He didn't break eye contact with me but I had already looked away.

"Welcome to Oak field high school," Mrs. Wilson said while smiling a bit too brightly. "Take any of the empty seats and take out a piece of paper."

He had this amused look on his face as walk towards me. He walked up to the empty desk next to me and sat down. He leaned over and whispered, "So what's your name?"

I frowned and whispered, "For me to know and you to find out."

Mrs. Wilson's voice rang out, "Leah, pay attention and stop flirting with the new boy." I lowered my head in embarrassment.

I heard Sara's voice behind me, "Leah" I turned around.

She pointed at Ryan, "Is he bothering you?" I chuckled, shaking my head.

She chuckled and shook her head too, "This going to be a long ass year."

On that I have to agree with her. This year is going to be a long long year.

Hi everyone! This my very first story. I started to write stories when I was a sophomore in high school but the events that took place in my life caused me to lose my draft of my stories. Thus losing my all my work. But no worries, I've gotten back up stronger and better. So please go easy on me. Point out all my mistake so I can edit the story later on.
