My beautiful readers first of all welcome to I Promise, and thank you for deciding to give this book a chance and reading it. Recently I have decided  that this book could use some improvement from the time I first started writing it 4 years ago. This means I will be rewriting parts of it, and I might also change some aspects, hopefully no major changes but I will try to get the most out of this story and give you the best reading experience I can. I hope you enjoy the story and and happy reading.

Chapter 1

This time it's going to be different, this time I'm returning home and I won't have to ever start again. That's what I told myself as I was sitting in the car, with my head leaning against the cold window watching the small droplets of rain race one another to the end of the window. We were on the highway from the airport heading yet again to our new home, but this time with the promise that it will be our final home. No more moving from one country to the other. No more new beginnings, no more new schools and no more new lifes- finally after all these years, I will have stability in my life, something I have been yearning for for years.

See I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but we had to move around a lot in the past couple of years due to Dad's ever changing work locations. We moved to Austria when I was around eleven years old , it was a major change for me to say the least since I didn't even know the language spoken there- which didn't exactly make things easier for me. But with time everything tends to get easier I guess, but I contribute that mainly to the fact that I'm a somewhat fast learner I guess and it didn't take me too long to learn the language.

When I finally began to fit in, slowly starting to feel okay again and like I belong there, getting used to my new life, my dad was transferred to another country again. It had been that way for the past couple of years. Whenever we would finally settle in and start to feel at home they would yet again transfer him to another country.

Eventually with the course of time I lost hope in trying to settle in or find new friends anymore, since I already knew our residence would be only temporary and that after a while we would have to move again and leave everything behind.

A few months back however when we were all gathered at the dinning table, a family tradition we had- which was that whenever Dad would be in town we would all have dinner together no matter the circumstances or outside obligations we had with other people. That was when Dad informed us that he had exciting news he wanted to share with us. However he didn't even have to continue for me to know what was coming, I had memorized his speeches by now, so I didn't even bother look up to him, continuing to stare at my dinner plate in front of me.

He cleared his throat looking at me expectantly,"Amy?"

I turned my head facing him tears already starting to gather in my eyes, I know what was coming, I shouldn't be affected by it anymore- but I was really just tired of the constant moving around. I couldn't continue my life like that from one country to the next. I was a college student now and needed some stability in my life and to have a new house every few months wasn't exactly what I would call a stable life.

He looked at me, a small smile playing on his mouth," don't look at me like I'm giving you the news of your dog's death princess. Come on, a little more enthusiasm please. Anyway now tell me don't you miss little Benjamin and Alice ".

My eyes widened at the mention of their names and I stared from him to Mom and back at him, " Hold up you mean Alice and Ben, the Alice and Ben I grew up with ?"

A big grin widened on his face as I stared at him in disbelieve.

"Why yes honey exactly these two. My boss called me in this morning telling me I will be transferred back to the main company in LA and that I got promoted to take the position of COO there, after my many years of hard work and my loyalty towards the company. And princess this will be a permanent job, we won't be moving around anymore I promise ", he exclaimed a big smile on his face and a new shine I had never before seen on my father, pride I think, pride in his accomplishment.
