"Life is easy when you get a job and a stable income." Adults sure say something efficient. "We don't want to be with you! We don't want to become lab rats!" Everyone sure hates me. Haven't they realized that I didn't choose this life.

I always walk the same pathwhen going to school. I always wear the same cold shirt that the school use as uniform. What does it matter anyway? Why is it also light colored? Getting dirty would be harder if it's not light. I don't really have anything to complain about it anymore. I like it actually because my classmates and I have the same clothing. I've always wished to talk to them but they don't want to. They put a social isolation for me. How convenient.

I always walk the same path when going home. I always walk alone and I watch my classmates giving a 3-meter distance between me and them. It's efficient for me because I have enough space when walking home. There always a breaking point for this though. I hate this life. I wanted to have many friends but I guess it doesn't work for me. I only have one thing.

"Hail! Let's go home together." said a familiar voice. Yes, this is the only thing I have. She is a person though. The only friend I have who I secretly like. Although, I know she just hangs out with me due to pity.

"Aurum, it's you. I w-would really like that." I said as I tucked my T-shirt. This is the only happiness I am able to have freely. I guess that's my life. It's not like the life of a cool guy. Aurum Prifalla, the goddess who saved me from my loneliness, hangs out with me despite of myself.

"Let's go! How's school by the way? Mine's amazing. I can't believe many guys would actually take my phone number." she said with a smile. She doesn't really realize that she is actually famous with the guys. That's what I like about her. She might be disappointed that I have no friends at school.

"Uhm, it's going well. I think I might have some friends tomorrow." I said as I faked a laugh. I guess I could have an excuse like this.

"You can't do that, Hail. You should have many friends. I will not allow anything like having no friends. I am going to charge to your school." she said as she raised her fist. I am actually in heaven with just her words. Seeing that she cares about me increases my strength.

"Y-you shouldn't do that. I am fine. You shouldn't do anything just for me. I promise I'll make many friends." I said as held her hand. I usually hold my mother's hand in order to assure her that I'll do it so I did it to her.

"W-what? Of course, I'll do something." she said as she hid her hands behind her back. "You're an important friend after all." she continued. Of course, I am Friend A. I am like those characters in a certain anime. The bridge is what I am. It never crossed my mind that I could be a pair for Aurum.

"Hmmm, okay but I won't allow you to do anything that could put you in trouble." I said as I looked at her with determination.

"Mm, Okay, I won't do anything." she said as she turn away from me. I think she doesn't like how I stared at her. We continued to walk home.

"Hey, you guys. Wait for me." a familiar voice called out. It was Ciftron. We call him Cift. He is a friend of ours. Ciftron Ptravin, son of the owner of the Ptravin research facility, is a true man. He is my polar opposite. He is strong, good at sports, famous, but we have a similarity. We are both smart.

"Hey, Cift. Nice seeing you today, how did school work out for you?" I asked him as he approached us. He seems to be full of energy.

"I guess it was fine, but first I have something to talk about." he said as he placed his left arm around my neck. He whispered something to me. He said that he would like me to leave first so that he could talk to Aurum about something.
