"It's the third city that has been attacked today, your Highness," Alastair spoke, bowing in front of his King, "The attacks have been coordinated by Lysias, it seems he is coming this way..what do you suggest we do..my Lord?"

Jasper stared blankly at his Guardian for a moment before standing from his throne to respond, his wife, Alanis, doing the same, fear evident in her hazel coloured eyes.

"Gather as many men as you can Alastair, send them to guard the perimeter of the castle and the city which we reside in, don't let Lysias through under any circumstance. If Lysias does manage to break our barrier, let him come to me, I will protect my family and kingdom, I must face him on my own.. understood?" said Jasper.

Alastair shook his head slightly, his red tinted hair following the movement, "My Lord..you know I cannot abandon your side the way you ask me to, my sole purpose, my only purpose is to protect you, to guard you, hence the reason I am your Guardian."

Jasper gave Alastair a small smile, "I know this Alastair, but I am not asking you for the impossible, as your King, I ask of you to do this for me. Let me face my brother alone, you will know if harm is coming my way, only then may you intervene. Now, gather the men I asked you for, position them where needed, I must prepare here for any necessary battle. May brave souls be with you."

With that, Alastair bowed and dismissed himself.

Alanis turned to face her husband, taking in the details of his face.

A light scar across the bridge of his nose, his feathered raven coloured hair, the calming blue eyes that their son mimicked from him ,that now showed worry and fear..

Their son.

"Jas.." Alanis whispered, her melodic voice breaking in the slightest.

Jasper quickly turned to face her, stepping forwards, clasping her gentle hands in his, "He's going to be safe, I swear my Love, no harm will come to either of you..but neither of you are safe here, you both need to leave Our World, somewhere Lysias won't find you." He spoke quickly, his eyes frantically looking into hers.

Alanis shook her head stepping back from him, "No Jasper, I cannot leave you, he's after Koda and you know that, he won't harm me."

"I am not willing to risk your life Alanis, you must leave and take Koda with you"

"Jas..I can't do tha-"

"Yes you can!," Jasper cut her off, raising his voice, "You can and you will, you must Alanis..it would kill me if anything were to happen to either of you."

Alanis held back tears that threatened to escape, she turned her back to her husband.

The thought of leaving him alone frightened her.

She wasn't afraid of him being defeated by Lysias, she knew Jasper was more than capable of ending his brother. She wanted to fight alongside him, fight for her Kingdom, she wanted to defend her people along with the others, she was able to do that and so much more, but Jasper just wanted her to sit and wait, but Alanis is more than that, she was afraid Jasper was forgetting that, she is just as strong as a hundred men, Jasper knew that, this isn't just his fight, it was hers too, it was theirs.

"No Jasper.. I'm staying here with you," She turned to face him, "Koda has his Guardian, I will send them both away, I will remain here with you, I will assist you in this battle, I will protect you as much as you will protect me, I will not let Lysias destroy what is ours, not our son, nor our Kingdom, nor our family."

Jasper slowly nodded, he stepped towards her taking her delicate face in his hands gently and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"I swear to you my Love, I will protect you and our son, even if it is the last thing I do, I will not let anyone or anything take you both away from me. We will fight together, as one." Jasper whispered as he held his wife close against his chest.

"Gather Koda and call for Alika, I'm sure he isn't far, send them off tonight my Love, the sooner the safer they'll be. Pick the planet of life, Earth, in the galaxy beside ours, the Milky Way, our son will be safe there."
