Hold Me Close

Chapter 16

Marley's POV:

After the doctor left the room, the nurse came in and gave me sleeping pills. I was starting to fall asleep when someone came in. They sat next to the bed and I recognized his smell as soon as he sat down.

Chase.

I was laying down with my eyes closed feeling my eyelids heavy. I guess he thought I was sleeping because he started talking.

"You deserve better than this Marley. I've never felt like this and it scares me because I feel like you will find someone better than me and its hard for me. I can't stand the way your "family" treats you. You should be treated like a princess and I can do that. I will try everything in my power for you to live a wonderful life filled with love and laughs and care. I will remind you everyday that you are beautiful and I won't stop until you believe it yourself. I think I love you Marley. I don't know how you did it but I think I do. I haven't loved someone in a long time and I'm not sure how it feels but you Marley, you're different."

Wow..I was not expecting that. But I can't help but feel like I'm about to explode inside. As soon as I was about to open my mouth to answer him, he continued.

"Wow I sound like a girl" he laughed at himself.

He was about to leave when I grabbed his arm. He looked at me in shock. I guess he didn't expect me to hear his speech but thank god I did.

"Did you hear everything?" he asked rubbing the back of his neck. He looked so adorable when he's nervous.

"Yea"

"Sorry, I thought you were asleep. I don't want to pressure you into anything you don't want to do.I know ho-"

"Chase,stop."

'I'm rambling aren't I?"

"Yea. It's cute though." I tease

He blushes and looks down at the floor. 

"So is it true? Because it seems too good to be true" 

Yea it is"

"Well I like you . Alot. I need to know you won't just leave me. I need to know that I can trust youand you have to prove it to me because I don't want o be that broken girl again. I'm tired of being her and I'm trying my best to change."

"I understand and I will make you fall for me. That's a promise."

He stood up and started to lean in. I closed my eyes and leaned in too. When our lips touched, I felt sparks fly. He kissed me with so much passion. It was rough yet soft. We pulled apart and of course I was smiling like an idiot. I completely forgot that we were in the hospital until the nurse came in and said that visiting hours were over. 

He said goodbye and I felt the sleeping pills kick in. Before I knew what was hasppening, I fell in a deep  comforting sleep.
