reacquainted

(Y/N) huffed angrily, running her fingers through her hair. She unlaced her boots and hastily shoved them into her bag. Who knew he'd have such a stick up his ass? She thought to herself. (Y/N) had assumed that the disrespectful attitude and unkind words had just been an act, a front. Either to psych other competitors out or just to boost his own confidence. But no, as it turns out, he's just as selfish and loathsome in real life.

The girl continued to grumble while she sorted her bag, unhappy with the outcome on the rink and somewhat regretting stooping to his level. As she thought about apologising to the boy but quickly discounted it, a voice pulled her out of her revere,
"(Y/N)?" Her head shot up, she immediately recognised the voice even though it had been a while since she heard it,

"Yuuri!" standing up from the bench, she ran at him. Arms wide, eyes glistening and a gigantic smile across her face. She barrelled into him, tightening her arms around his waist. The force of her run knocked them both over, and she landed on top of him. She lifted up her body, propping herself up on her arms. After a moment of silence, the pair cracked up, laughing hysterically as (Y/N) rolled off of him,

"I haven't seen you in ages!" She exclaimed after the laughing subsided,

"I know!" Yuuri agreed. He scratched the back of his head, letting out an awkward chuckle, "Sorry about that."

"Don't be ridiculous!" Trust Yuuri to be apologetic for training hard to get where he wanted to be, "I'm just happy to see you again! And with a brand new coach!" She winked at him,

"Well, he's not my coach yet," Yuuri corrected, blushing,

"But he will be," she amended, determined for Yuuri to beat that Russain punk if only for selfish reasons,

"How's your skating career going, anyway (Y/N)?"

"It's..." She looked down guilty at the floor," Not."

"Not, what?" Yuuri questioned, bemused,

"It's not going,"

"Why?"

"Because..." (Y/N) didn't want to answer, the reason seemed so stupid now, "BecauseI'mtooscaredtoperforminfrontofpeopleandIknowI'mnotgoodenoughtocomoeteagainstpeoplelikeyouwhatifeveryonelaughsatmeIwon'tbeabletotaketheembarrasment!" she rushed out, hoping. Yuuri didn't catch much of what she's said.

Unfortunately, he did. And so did  Viktor and Yuri who had walked into the room, looking for the other skater.
