"You worthless little bitch! I don't even know why I allowed you to be born!"
Her father yelled from downstairs. "Anna... I'm scared."
"It's okay molly, he won't hurt you, I won't let him" Molly smiled and looked up at her sister before grabbing Anna's arm and clutching it with all her might. They both stood in front of the door knowing perfectly well what would come next, footsteps, growing louder as he got closer to the room. All her life she'd been yelled at and beat well, after she killed her mother, at least that's what her father always told her.
"Go, Molly hide now," Anna said staring at the door
"But..."
"Go!" Anna practically yelled wanting Molly to be safe. Molly nodded and scurried to her hiding spot under the floor board.
"Now, remember keep quiet ok?" Before Molly could respond the door flew open and smashed against the wall.

"Hey mom! C'mon let's go hang out with Diana outside!" Diana was her best friend, she was hanging out in the pool waiting for me. Molly would follow Anna everywhere honestly it was kinda cute, but sometimes annoying.
"Momma can I go in the pool with Anna?"
Molly was only 10 when this happened,  Anna was 12.
"Of course, sweetheart."
Her mothers voice was soft and sweet she seemed so innocent she was beautiful... at the time her mother and father had been arguing about who know what, it was probably something small and could be resolved quickly, although Dan did like to argue. "Annabel lovely, can you come for a second?" Her father said in a confusing sweet tone she knew she was in trouble but she didn't know why
"Okay, I'll be right out." She replied gleefully as she stepped out the chlorine endured water dripped on floor every step she took left a small print.
"Yes dad?"
"Who the hell said you could go in the pool?!? You are my daughter you do as I say! And I don't recall saying you could go in the pool risking your life!"
"But dad I asked mom and she sai-"
"WHAT did I just say! Now do as your told and get your sister out of the pool."
"Yes father, I understand" she said as she steadily walked back to the pool and told Molly to get out.
"Honey what's wrong? I said you could sta-" Anna cut her mother off by saying "I know mom but dad said to get out" she slowly hung her head down and walked off into the house Diana followed after.
"How many times have I told you that you have to let them have fun."
"They could drown in the pool!"
"They know how to swim Daniel! You know what I don't want to hear it I'm leaving, I'm going home and taking the kids, you just stay here and do whatever I don't care what you do I'm just leaving I need some time alone."
She walked off not letting him even have time to respond. "Uhmm, go fish!" Molly said with excitement before Diana's bedroom door opens and Veronica walks in
"Molly Anna your mom wants to see you she said your going home" a sigh swept around the room as the to girls said their goodbyes and left the room.
"Marlene!" Dan yelled as the car drove off into the distance he hurried in his truck and drove after them "momma slow down you might crash!" She kept her speed knowing Dan was close behind soon enough they crashed she ran a stop light right when a huge truck came from the left of them crashing straight into the drivers seat. Anna and Molly were alive harm a bit but alive. Although,   heryou couldn't say the same for Marlene.

Today~

"What happened father?" Anna said to a now angered and drunk grown man.

"You make me sick, you killed your mother, you allowed it to happen"

"Dad I didn't do anything! You know that! It was the guy in the red truck!"

"Don't you dare! Raise your voice to me especially with such lies! You stupid bitch!"  A hard slap swept across her face hard enough to bring her down. She laid there motionless, until her father lifted her by her hair Anna was struggling to at least loosen his grip. He threw her across the room her head hit the wall hard enough to make a dent. Blood dripped from the back of her head onto her brown hair slowly making its way to her back.

"Where's your sister?!?" He yelled in her face spitting all over

"I-I don't know" she looked hoping he would believe her lie, he didn't he grabbed her by the neck and lifted her slightly.

"I'm gonna ask again, WHERE IS YOUR SISTER!"

"I don't -know" he released her and threw her to side her head landing roughly on the pillow. He left the room, slamming the door behind him. Anna laid there looking helpless rubbing the back of her head. After the footsteps were out of ear shot Molly slowly and quietly lifted the board and hopped out of their soon to be escape route. Whipping away her tears from what Molly just witnessed Anna spoke softly "did you get any work done?" She managed to let out a small chuckle. "Yeah *sniff* yeah we should be good to go by next week" Anna smiled proud of her sister "put the rope in the hole start packing your things as well, as soon as we get the chance we're leaving." Anna said to Molly before hugging her tightly and sending her off to find all her clothes and money she had been saving up since...that day...the day their dad changed.
