Her deep blue eyes widen insisting it couldn't be true. She clasped my hand in her two smaller ones, gently tugging on it.

"I'm so proud of you! This is, this is amazing!"

Tears gathered, contrasting the brilliant smile that grew in her face as she beamed up at me. Giving her a small smile, I slightly squeezed back in response.

"I know you can do this. You're ready,"

She praised, eyes bright and hopeful compared to the dread and doubt that darkened my own.

Was I truly ready? After so long could I really let go?

Suddenly she sprang into action, her golden waves rustled as she scrambled, gathering her things from the desk beside us.

"I almost forgot, I gotta go! I'm gonna be so late, Saiako!"

I chuckled, leaning against the desk to watch her scramble,

"Who knows Yukio, you might catch a break and not get locked out of the auditorium this time."

Scowling, she hastily zipped up her book bag. Without looking she hoisted her book bag over her shoulder and went for the door. I knew she was just stalling so that she could have the last word so I reached out to ruffle her hair as she passed by me. She just paused and huffed in resignation, knowing I had caught on to her charade immediately.

"I'll get you next time Saiako, just you wait"

She muttered adjusting the strap of her bag and continued to make her way out.

As she reached the door , I called out softly,

"Thank you, and I mean it. I-I want this to be a new start."

She paused at the door and swiftly looked back to stare into the jaded determination that shone through my hazel eyes. I knew, that as she gazed into my eyes, she could catch a glimpse of the splintered reflection inside. Yet she never failed to point out the bits and pieces of me that weren't cracked, and faded.

"What do you think I'm here for?"

She said with a light tone, a soft smile flickering across her face. Yukio was always looking out for me, always saying what I needed to hear and always seeing the bright side of things.

With that she was gone and I stood alone in the empty classroom.

I wandered out of the room with no particular destination in mind. Later we planned to meet up at a cafe nearby to go over some weekend plans and relax. My mind was numb, overflowing with too many thoughts yet failing to focus on any one in particular .

I'm done, its over.

Squeezing my eyes shut, I clenched my hand into a fist, holding back the rush of emotion that fought to overwhelm me. Controlling my breathing, I continued towards the stairwell hoping the walk down to the first floor would clear my head.

Over.

As I turned the corner and my breath escaped me in a whoosh.

Dark amethyst eyes glared down at me as I found myself abruptly pinned against the wall. My clenched hand was held above my head while my other wrist was restrained down by my waist. His lean tall body trapping my own small thinner one, leaving me with no where to run.

Mind reeling, I breathed heavily any useless attempt to control the rising emotion forgotten, I quickly glanced away to avoid his heated expression and gasped,
