Must teachers humiliate me? -Thalassa

We never asked to save the world. Hell, we never asked to be demigods. But the universe just loves to humiliate us. And by us, my five best friends who turned out to be my distant cousins. Weird right? My name is Thalassa Rose, Thal for short. If you think that's weird, well, that's definitely not the weirdest part... we're just getting started...
"Ugh, I really do hate math. I hate school in general...it's just so boring." I said. It's not my fault. It's not any of our faults. We all have ADHD and dyslexia (except Linz) so the hatred for school must come naturally.(She still kind of hates school. Kind of.)
"If you haven't noticed, we're kinda forced to go to school." my friend Alice Mendoza said. Alice is always like this, sassing us in her funny usual way. That is why we love her.
"Kaskade, you know you can get your headphones confiscated right?" Laurel Porter, a shy girl who basically talks to no one but us said. Laurel loves music and books, but for some reason she likes the ones translated in Greek.
"Huh? Oh, sorry, I just LOVE music! You know that right??" Kaskade said.
"Yes" We all said in unison.
"You and Laurel love music as much as Thal loves the ocean and as Alice loves justice and law stuff "
Linz Malone said.
"Quiet you. You love history as much as Thal loves molester dolphins!" Kaskade said
"Hey! Dolphins are misunderstood creatures. They don't intentionally molest people, they get confused with human beings! And why must everyone compare me with my love of dolphins and the ocean? The ocean is so amazing! Did you know only 5% of the worlds ocean is discovered and 75% of the world is covered in wa-"
"YOUR MAKING MY HEAD HURT" they all yelled together.
"Sorry not sorry" I said with a smirk.
--TIME SKIP--
6th period science
Science isn't as bad as math. That's for sure. I really like science because science is the basis of marine biology which is probably the only thing i'm good at.
"Ms. Rose?" our science teacher Mr. Nelson called out.
"Huh?" I snapped out of daydreaming about the ocean.
"Care to tell us about how global warming affects the ocean?"
Oh God, my favorite subject!
"Uh sure." I said. Mr. Nelson raised an eyebrow as if i was going to get the answer wrong. I'll show him.
"Global Warming is caused by the over usage of fossil fuels we burn in our daily lives such as gasoline. And when you use so much fuels and pollute the air, it warms up the-"
"I never asked what causes it, I asked how it affects the ocean." Mr. Nelson cut me off.
"If you let me finish, maybe you'd see how the creation of fossil fuels affects the ocean." I snapped back. I heard a lot of "ooooohs" and "oh snap"s here and there, while Alice, Kaskade, Linz, and Laurel stared at me.
"As i was saying," I glanced at Mr. Nelson to give him my best "don't-you-dare-cut-me-off-again-or-i-will-kill-you look" he was giving me the stink eye, but my look was better probably.
"when climate change strikes different climate zones in the world, it affects the heat signatures and makes the oceans warmer, causing tides to rise and ocean levels to also rise along with it. Very later in life, the Bay Area will most likely flood, but not for a long time." I finished.
The whole class applauded. I heard "Thalassa just schooled Mr. Nelson!" all over the place. I actually felt proud.

7th period math
This is where shit gets crazy. As always, i wasn't paying attention. Hell, none of my friends pay attention. Ms. Cho, our math teacher, took an interest in us for some reason.
"Thalassa Rose, Alice Mendoza, Kaskade Robinson, Laurel Porter, and Linz Malone, see me outside after school." she said
"What did we do?" I asked
"Detention Ms.Rose." she responded
"I asked a question. Isn't this what school is all about?"
"Would you like to make that a referral to the office Ms.Rose?" I felt anger rise in me. My cheeks were red. My friends had to sit me down.
"It's not worth it." Laurel said.
"So is it you see me after school or a detention Ms.Rose?" she stared at me.
"Well a referral is basically the same thing is spending time after school with you..." i grumbled.
"What was that Ms. Rose?"
"Nothing ma'am." I sat back down. This lady pissed me off. I'm so done with her. I took that term way to literally.
