One stormy night at Stony Brooks Orphanage, a baby was left on their doorstep. The baby had tears dripping down its cheeks but no noise. The baby was in a old cardboard box wrapped in a white blanket with a red ribbon and a note. Mrs. Millie the orphanage director found the baby. She took the baby inside put it in one of the cribs and read the note. The note read "Please take care of her...Her name is Charlotte Rose. Please call her Rose. I am sorry I have to leave her like this but I don't have another option. " Mrs. Millie got a lot of babies this way. Abandoned on the door step. The parents of these babies were usually teens who were trying to hide it from their parents. But, this one seemed different. More heartfelt and meaningful. She examined the note and saw stains on it from tear drops. As she went back to the baby Rose she noticed various bruises and several scratches. She immediately took her to the nurse at the orphanage. The nurse, Ms. Jamie said that it almost looked like the baby had been beaten. This news made Mrs. Millie cry. Mrs. Millie was a short red haired compassionate 30 year old woman. Mrs. Millie, wiping away tears, held the baby in her gentle arms. The baby seemed so sad, hurt and so tired. Mrs. Millie rocked the baby to sleep in a rocking chair. After Mrs. Millie put the baby in her crib Mrs. Millie fell asleep in the nursery.
