Walking in, I wasn't surprised of the sight I stood before. His clothes; torn, soaked in sweat and blood. He looked either homeless or dead. I couldnt decide on one. Chains; rusted and worn, yet he did not try to escape from this hellhole. Pityful.

I longed to touch him flesh. His smooth, fragile skin. I wanted to run my fingers through his...

I NEEDED to run my fingers through his long messy hair. But not today. Not ever again...

I slowly made my way up to his dirty, limp body. He laid still, expected of a human. They should know their place. A little acknowledgement wouldn't have hurt him though.

I kneeled in front of him where his chains sat. He tilted his head slightly to his left. His eyes flickered to my body, but not my face.

Watching him, the urge had kicked in. I fought to silence the voices in my mind telling me to launch myself at him.

...he's mine...

I held my right hand just below his boney chin. I watched his darkened blue eyes lose color as his glare made its way up to mine. Inside I was shaking.

"What are you waiting for?" He muttered, "Just hurry up already. You made yourself late anyways."

His attitude startled me. I kept my sight on him a while longer before I pulled myself away from him. He glanced up slightly, apparently wondering why I was backing away.

"I..." I stuttered, "I'm letting you go."

That caught his attention. It was the first time he's sat upright for years. I tore my eyes away from his. I couldn't stand to look at him any longer. What I was about to do, was unforgivable of a Vampire.

"What?" He replied. "You can't be serious..."

I started to easily break the rusted chains away from his ankles.

"Ok, so what took you so long?" He asked.

"Why didn't you just break away and run? I know you know these chains are not sturdy," I implied. "You'd think you would have."

"There's nothing to go back to. You took it all away from me." His voice was as cold as stone. The comment angered me. I held my hands still and squeezed my eyes shut while I fought off the urge to toss myself at him.

...I need his body...

I tried my best to relax myself, and look him in the eye. A tear rolled down my face as I muttered the words...

"Do you still see me?"

For a second he sat still, then he sighed and slumped back against the stone wall. His eyes wandered somewhere beyond my presence.

"Of course I still see you." He murmured bluntly.

"LIAR!" I stood up and screamed, "You haven't been able to see me for years!" The single tear multiplied into tens and hundreds.

He didn't move a muscle as I cried. My hands balled up into tight fists and I stood over him once more.

"How long?" I murmured. How long since his ability has vanished?
