Hazel Eyes - Josh Dun Fan Fic

Chapter 1

Ruby's POV

"I'm cold," I moan. Rubbing my freezing hands together, covering them with my faded Green Day sweater.

"Quit complaining, you're the one who wanted to come up here in the first place," Josh says with a slight chuckle, gesturing to the roof that we were sitting on.

"Ugh, you're so annoying sometimes," I say, pushing him slightly. He laughs and looks down at his hands.

I climbed through my bedroom window later that night (or morning I should say, as it was 1:23 am), took off my black skinny jeans, and slipped under the welcoming, warmth of my blanket. It had been a fun night, but sneaking out in the middle of the night and sitting on top of an abandoned hospital with Josh was pretty tiring.

Josh and I first met in 10th grade, two years ago.

I was walking towards the back of the science building (my usual hideaway from big boys and bitchy girls), when I heard a strange noise coming from my corner. It sounded like....crying....a boy crying.

"Hello?" I whispered. My voice was a little shaky. The crying stopped. I walked around the corner and saw a brown-haired boy sitting in the corner with his legs to his chest, hiding his eyes.

"A-are you o-okay?" I stepped towards him, sitting down and putting my hand on him shoulder.

And that's how we met. Just a simple "hello". It wasn't as romantic as it sounds because we were both so embarrassed because of what happened that we avoided each other for a week, and then I found out his name.

We spent almost every single day together since then, maybe because we were scared of the bullies or maybe because we just wanted a friend, either way we've been best friends ever since. There was something really special about Josh. Something that made him very, very different from anyone else I had ever met, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

I drifted off the sleep that night with nothing but Josh in my mind. What was it about him???
