Intro: The year was 2016, in the big town of Seattle where a girl named Jasmine lived. Her hair was a cascading waterfall of brown with highlights of light caramel. She had a beautiful face that could make any guy want to stair at her for ages. She was tall and had the body of a super model making everyone want to be her. She had soft, tan skin. However, past the looks of her she was a shy girl, always thinking and hardly let anyone get close to her. Her best friend was named Elizabeth, she was kind and knew Jasmine like the back of her hand. Elizabeth was pretty much the opposite of Jasmine. Elizabeth was short, beautifully blond, fair skin that was like a porcelain doll and still had an amazing body. Elizabeth would have guys lining up for her, but Elizabeth (Lizz for short) had no interest for guys. She knew that friends and family is way better than worrying about some guy just wanting her for looks. Jasmine envied how Lizz didn't care, Jasmine (Jazzy for short) was boy crazy wanting to find Mr. Perfect. Jazzy would hangout with Lizz, Tara, Jocelyn, and Kiki on a daily basis. These were her best friends, each one amazingly different. What they had in common were their kindness, humor, and beauty. They could trust each other with their secrets and they always stuck through their rough patches, and emotional hardships.

                                       How it Started:

It was a foggy and cold morning as usual, Jasmine got up and started getting ready for school. She hears her mom down stairs cooking breakfast as she always does.   "Hey Mom?!", Jasmine yells down to her mom. "Yes sweetie?" "Do I have to go to school today?" "You know my answer is always yes, unless your sick." "UGH, fine..." Jasmine plops down on her bed thinking about what she'll wear today. She goes to her closet and picks out a nude-like long sleeve, black leggings, a new warm black coat that she got from H&M, knitted black beanie, and finally her black boots that she loves to wear when it gets cold. She goes down stairs gets her cup of coffee, bag for school, and a bagel her mom made for her. Off she went, gets in her car and leaves for school. She loves driving now that she newly got her permit (Jasmine is 16 years old). Once in the car she turns on her favorite playlist, a mix of calm songs that always makes her feel in the winter mood. She gets to school just in time for the bell. She walks to her first class (which is English) and immediately snaps back to reality of how painful this class is for her. Right next to her sits her crush...his name was Justin. He was a platinum blond with these perfect icy-blue eyes that could see through anyone, nothing could hide from them. He was such a book worm, he spent his days in the library reading the most beautifully written novels of life and books that can show you a whole other side to your life and emotions. His lips looked so soft and kissable as every word he spoke seemed so perfect and nothing he said seemed to be wrong. Jasmine has known him since the 6th grade and he always teased her with temptations. At some points all she wanted to do is pull him in the deepest, most passionate kiss. The best part of him was that he was so kind and for a first he wasn't some fuck boy going girl to girl. To most people, they didn't even know who he was. But Jasmine knew him, she felt like all she wanted to do was just go up to him and confess her feelings to him in the most romantic way she could. But Jasmine never had a way with words like he does, she felt as if he would never fall for her, but she still yearned for the touch and affection of his. "Hey, how's your morning going?", Justin said in the most soft and comforting voice. "It's um, it's going great", Jasmine tried to say in the most calm and normal voice. "That's great, did you do the homework for the project?" "Uh, yeah I, uh- emailed a copy of it to you and printed out an extra copy." "Ok, I haven't checked my email since yesterday so I'll check it out later." Jasmine and Justin were paired together for a project about a novel called, "The Sunsets of Time". Just another romance book where the two think their instant soulmates and fall in love, so boring. But of course Justin tries to find out every detail and thinks it's this amazing book. Jasmine isn't mad, after all, the project is about finding the meaning of the book. But grades and project aside, she loved having an excuse to talk to Justin. The entire class they spent talking about the project, she couldn't stop thinking how amazing he was to her and how she wanted to be more than just friends from 6th grade. The bell rang and she left and met up with her friend Lizz. "Oh my god, Lizz he's so perfect I just can't stop thinking about him, and he asked me how my morning is and just, he's just-", Jasmine rambled as usual. "Ok stop right there, you always gush about him and yet you don't tell him how you feel or even ask him to hang out", Lizz clearly stated to Jasmine as if to knock her back to her senses. "I know but it's so hard to just tell him how I feel, like what if he doesn't like me or if I mess up when I talk?" "Jasmine. Stop underestimating yourself, any guy would love to date you and it'll feel way better once you get it off your chest." "Ok I'll try to ask him if he wants to hangout in 5th period" "You better." Lizz walked into her class and I walked down to the end of the hall to get to mine.

The rest of the day went by like flash since all Jasmine had on her mind was Justin. She would play over and over again what she would say to him in 5th period. And finally, it was 5th period, how ironic that it was their chemistry class. Lizz, Tara, Jocelyn, and Kiki were out side of her class talking to her and trying to calm her down just before she made what felt like the most difficult thing she's put herself through. Finally Jasmine walks into class and sits down in her usual seat, right across from Justin. She sits down and hears Justin talking to his friends, she hears his lovable laugh and can't help but smile when she hears him laugh. The teacher walks in and tells the class to sit down. Justin turns around and whispers. "Hey Jasmine, what's up?" "Nothing just waiting for school to end." Jasmine nervously laughs as she looks at his perfect jaw line. Justin smiles just before the teacher yells at them for talking and as Justin sits down Jasmine turns her head to the side to avoid awkward eye contact. From the corner of her eye she's sees him still smiling and then looks down at his paper. The teacher goes on to his lecture as the students take notes. "Okay class, everyone go home and make sure you study for the unit exam tomorrow." "Ugh..." the class said annoyed and careless. For the last couple of minutes of class is left to do nothing. "Okay Jasmine it's now or never," Jasmine whispered to herself. Feeling her words come up to her throat wanting to spurt out and just say it. "Hey Justin?" "Hey, what's up?" "I was just wondering if you, um, if you wanted to hangout this weekend to um, I don't know catch a movie, or, um- maybe some um- coffee?" "Oh um, of course. How about some coffee and a movie?" "Oh um yeah um- i mean, that sounds good." Jasmine felt a great relief as she finally asked Justin out. "So um, do you want my number to talk about details?" Justin said surprisingly sounding like he was nervous. "Yeah that would be great." Justin writes down his number on a piece of paper and gives it to Jasmine. For the rest of the day Jasmine was smiling and her friends were so happy and they were all fan girling after school when they went to Starbucks. The plan was to meet Justin at the new cafe across the street from the movies, they would then go to watch the new movie, The Conjuring 2, another scary movie. Jasmine imagined the day and was so ecstatic. She drives home, does her homework, and starts planning how the rest of the week is going to be agonizing waiting for the weekend.

Authors note:  Chapter 1 has been written in 3rd person. However, the rest of the book will now be in Jasmine's point of view. The reason why I wrote it in 3rd person is to convey the basic understanding of how Jasmine acts, looks like, and to describe how other characters act and look. So please enjoy the rest of the book, I will be uploading chapters as often as possible.
