This is the picture that inspired me a bit to write this story. Please enjoy.
Jade Egbert
"Look it's the Witch."
"Better watch out or the Witch will cast a curse on you."
This is my life at school, but I don't mind. I've gotten so used to all the comments said about me that they no longer bother me. This also lead to me not having any friends, and my older brother, John, is worried about me being all by myself, but I had told John many occasions that it doesn't bother me at all. He never listens. He'd try to hang out with me during lunch time, but I would force him to go with his friends. I love how John cares about me, but I didn't need a knight in shining armor to help me.
"Hey Witch. How about you drop the act? I know you're only doing this to get attention." I turned around in my chair to look at who had spoken to me, and I looked at Vriska in the eyes. I never liked our confrontation so I tried getting up to leave, but she pushed me back into the chair I was sitting in making my back smack right into the table. It was probably gonna bruise tomorrow. "I'm not done talking to you! Why don't you tell everyone that you're faking the whole 'I'm a witch' act." She sneered. I didn't say anything. I just looked at her straight in the eyes. She wasn't happy about my silence, so she slapped me.
"Vriska what have you done?! Your gonna anger the Witch, and she's gonna curse your entire family!" A boy behind her yelled.
"Shut up Tavros! She's not a fucking Witch! She's not gonna curse my entire family! It's all a big lie!" She snapped. The lights began to flicker, and this caught everyone's attention.
"Look at what you've done Vriska you've doomed us all!" Someone else was screaming at Vriska. Some people tried to leave, but the doors shut trapping them all in the cafeteria. I mostly heard female sheiks as light bulbs began to break.
"Un tas ir no šīs pasaules tumsas, kas nāk ļauno destruktīvu spēkus cilvēka dabu." I whispered. The air around me began to darken and the temperature dropped. Everyone started to scream and banged hard on the doors crying their way to safety. I felt arms wrap around me, and it startled me making the air return to normal. I tried looking at the person hugging me, but I couldn't see them when their face was hidden.
"Jade. You need to stop this." They spoke.
"John?" I asked.
"Stay calm okay. Take in deep breaths. Let everyone leave and it'll all be over." His voice was soothing, and I did as instructed.
"Ļaujiet viņiem iet." I whispered, and the doors in the cafeteria flung open. Everyone ran out the doors, and left the school. The teachers were all confused, and entered the cafeteria wondering what had happened.
"John? Jade? What on earth happened?" Ms. Hashbrown asked. Hashbrown wasn't her real name, but it was a nickname everyone came up with and it stuck. John didn't know what to say. He knew that if he lied everyone else would say that I tried harming them. There was no way of getting out of this one.
"John I want to go out." I told him. He let me go and gave me a sad look on his face. I looked away from him and tried getting up, but I think Vriska might've damaged my spine. I couldn't get up, and I hissed at the pain.
"Did you damage yourself while doing that?" John asked with concern written all over his face.
"No. I think Vriska hurt my spine when she pushed me back into the table." I replied. John's expression turned dark.
"Here I'll carry you." He picked me up bridal style making sure that I wasn't in any pain.
"Did she hurt herself?" Ms. Hashbrown asked walking over to us.
"She said that her back hurts, so I'm taking her to the nurse." John replied.
"John the nurse isn't here today." Ms. Hashbrown informed, "Maybe you should take her home, and you can tell your father about her injury."
"Thank you Ms. Hashbrown." She laughed. John took me to the office, and told the secretary that my back is in so much pain that I can't walk. He asked for permission if we could leave since the nurse wasn't here to check up on me. The secretary gave John permission and signed us both out. Josh carried me again, and as soon as we walked out the door people started screaming.
"Witch. Witch."
"Vriska shouldn't have messed with her."
I hid my face in John's chest, and I hugged him so that he doesn't do anything he'll regret.
"I can't believe John has to have a witch as a sister." John stopped in his tracks about to bark at them, but I faked a hiss of pain that he focused all his attention to me.
"Did I hurt you Jade?" he asked.
"I'll be fine John. Just get in your car, and I'll deal with it at home." I replied. He nodded, and opened the passenger side of his car placing me there. He closed the door, and jogged to the driver's side. We left the school, but I never thought that it was gonna be the last time I would ever see this school again. Not that I'm complaining. A new start could be good.

As soon as we got home, John put me in my room.
"Do you need anything?" He asked. I pointed towards a shelf that had full of books.
"Can you get me the dark purple book in the middle." He grabbed the book I told him, and put it on the bed. As soon as he put the book down, his phone rang. He didn't seem happy about the caller, but he still answered.
"Hello?" He answered. I pulled the book towards me and tried finding a healing spell. Page 147. I quickly turned to that page, and I hear John speak.
"No I'm not going to your party. . . I don't want to go plus I have to take care of my-"
"John you have no obligation to take care of me. You're still young. Go out and party with your friends." It sounded more like an order. He looked at me for a few seconds, and knew that I wasn't gonna take no for an answer. He sighed.
"I'll be there soon." He hung up his phone, and I smiled. "You sure you don't need anything?"
"Once I get this spell done, I'll be good to go. So go to that party." I told him.
"Alright." He sighed. He came over to me and kissed my forehead. "I'll be back before midnight, and don't stay up all night reading."
"I won't." I replied, and he closed the door. I looked down at the page and read the healing spell.
"Es aici nu savu spēku un, iespējams, svētī Jūsu bērnam šis noslēpums nakts." When I finished the spell, the pain in my back had subsided, and I swung my legs over the edge of my bed, to stand up, making sure that I wasn't in so much pain. I smiled.
Why don't you try another?
I ignored the voice and went down to kitchen. I saw my father cooking dinner, and I hugged him from behind.
"When will the food be ready?" I asked.
"Soon just give me a few more minutes." He answered.
"Okay." I responded, and went back in my room. I jumped on my bed which made the book turn to a different page. "Damn. Gotta be careful." I was about to close the book, but my eyes were glued to a spell. It's like it wanted me to read it, so I did.
"Dzīve iet ārā un nāve nāk atvērt plašu visām bailēm." When I finished, I felt like my head was being split open, and my vision began to darken. I felt fear, and I knew that whatever was going to happen was only going to bring disaster.

The Witch
Fiksi PenggemarI based this story off of a picture I saw. Jade Egbert was called a witch at her school because she reads "witch craft". She reads a Grimoire. Her other books are left at home. A spell she tried goes horribly wrong. Rose Strider lives right across...
