Cassie
It was during the middle of April and planting season was soon to start or had already started. Around the neighborhood, a majority of people had already started planting rosebushes by the outlines of their house.
As for our house, the rosebushes that were supposedly suppose to grow, weren't. They sat there dead and dry. Not everyone were planting rosebushes though, just most people. And I was apart of that most people.
I looked the other direction, beside me, to see that my neighbor had their flowers already grown. The flowers were a shade of red. The kind of shade that I took interest in.
I stared at the flowers. Standing on the grass, the wind wasn't too harsh, but just slightly breezy. This is how I liked it, when the weather was a bit cold. I got too caught into my thoughts and pleasure until I heard a door shut. I looked up to see that my neighbor had walked outside.
I turned my gaze back the other direction to avoid the stare between us. I've always done that with people. It wasn't my thing to make eye contact while talking to another person, I get a little insecure as they stare at the features on my face.
"Good morning, Cassie" he stated and walked off towards his car that almost looked like a black soccer mom car, I chuckled a little to myself.
I looked back up towards the car that was now driving down the street, and groaned. Today was Sunday, meaning in twenty-four hours I'll be in the same hell hole as my neighbor, also known as Joseph, Joseph Collins.
Joseph was probably the most nicest and kind person compared to his obnoxious group of friends. He was also the most admired because of his specialty for soccer. We were friends and still are but he has his own little life going on and I have my own.
I walked back into my house that I had to myself at the moment. My parents were away for business trips for their work which wasn't unusual. I opened the door and let it slam close behind me. The cold breeze from the air conditioner pushed against me, giving me a pleasant and serene feeling.
The house was pretty quiet, considering it was generally just my mom and I around the house, and maybe my brothers from time to time.
