Darkness. It surrounded me. As I floated in the abyss, I looked around and still saw nothing. I blinked, and the scene before me changed. It was my home... Something about it seemed off. Suddenly my feet started moving me on their own, bringing me inside.

My father and brother were sitting on the couch. I stepped in front of them and they stood up. I, being my short eight-year-old self, had to look up at my brother Walt, who was only one year older than me. He smiled down at me, ruffling my long, black hair. My father smiled along with him.

A feeling of safety and love washed over me. That soon changed...

Their smiles became wider, their eyes changing to a scarlet hue. I backed away slowly as their inhuman, deep voices rang throughout our house. "You were a mistake, we didn't want you! You ruined our family, and now we must get rid of you!"

My eyes widened, and I could feel the tears in my eyes ready to spill. Walt lunged for me and I quickly jumped out of the way. "Walt! Stop!" The sound of my voice didn't faze him at all. His expression remained cold and distant. "Get her!" My father chased after me as I ran upstairs.

I tried the door to my left, my father's room. Locked. I checked the room on the right, Walt's room. Locked. I knew there was one more place I could check. I moved down the hall and turned to the left, reaching for the doorknob and... Wait! The door wasn't there!

I heard the maniacal laughter of my father and brother combined, leaving an unsettling feeling in my stomach. I backed up to the end of the hall slowly, noticing my back hit the wall. The two family members I had once loved and trusted crept closer and closer, my heart sinking deeper each passing second.

"Bye Bye little sister!"

I let out a scream.
