Chapter 4

All throughout class I thought about what he whispered in my ear. It's not what he said, it's how he said it. It was serious yet playful. The bell interrupted my train of thought and I got all my stuff up to put in my locker. I did all my homework already. I get to leave school early because I have a job at the local Poetry Cafe. I put everything in my locker and went to meet Izzy out front. She works with me. I saw her standing beside her motorcycle with my helmet in her hand. "Wazz up Veh." she said as we both got on her bike. "Nothin much." I said before her bike roared to life. We rode to the Cafe and ran into the bathroom to put our uniforms on(aprons). We looked in and started taking orders. 2 hours later Jacob and Josh walked through the door and sat at the bar and ordered some coffee. We all started talking and me and Izzy went back and forth taking orders. Then HE walked through the door. He had a little group of friends and they sat at a table in the back. I looked at Izzy in shock. " Is he stalking me?" I asked. "Prolly." she said. I looked scared and disappointed. I grabbed my little notebook and started walking towards their table. He saw me coming and started smiling. "Hi, I'm Neveh, what you guys want." I said. " I'd tell you, but you might feel uncomfortable after." one of the goblins said. " Shut the fuck up, we'd like expressos." Aton said. "Coming up." I said with a forced smile. I walked back to Izzy and gave her the order. "You should dump this on him." she said as she gave me the order. Josh and Jacob laughed.Jacob got up and stopped me from leaving. " If he gives you any trouble call okay?" he said. " Ok." I replied grateful for his concern. I walked back to the table and gave them their orders. "Anything else?" I asked. " Yeah actually, your number....sense we're working on a project together." he said with a twisted smile. I rolled my eyes and went back to write the check. I don't know what possessed me to do it, but I wrote the check and wrote my number on a ripped piece of napkin and tucked it inside. I walked back to the table and gave them their check and walked back to the bar. The posey left and Aton came up to pay and before he walked out the door, he leaned in real close and said " Bye." and left.
