The Beginning

Prologue

Mira blearily opened her eyes, and shakily sat herself up on the cool green grass. She looked around at her new surroundings. She was surrounded by trees, all thickly close together. She looked behind herself, to find her pod in pieces from the collision when it crashed into the earth. She sniffed the strange air, to find that she was alone. She stood up onto her paws, Wait, paws? she looked down at her feet, to realize they were strangely paws. She also noticed she had a sleek, cat-like body. She scurried over to her broken pod and looked at her reflection in the shattered glass. Her ears had become rounded at the ends, and she now had a cat-like snout and face. She had her usual freckles that speckled her face, along with the spots that ran all the way down her body. Her bright violet eyes still remained the same as well. She noticed she still had her necklace tied around her neck, the special beads and claw all remaining unscratched. She brought a paw to it, feeling the surface of the claw smooth underneath her paw pads. Tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered the loss she had suffered merely 3 days ago. Mira sighed and picked herself up, forcing her memories to the back of her mind as she began to wander off into the forest.
