I'm laying in my bed. It hurts so much to breath, I can't.

Why did this have to happen to me? I ask myself.

My head hurts from crying my lungs hurt from breathing and my heart? My heart kills.

I roll over just as the door opens to reveal her. I start yelling, "Go away! Get away from me!" I pause, "You've already hurt me enough to last a lifetime."

She looks at me. "I'm sorry," she says. The look in her eyes tells me how truly sorry she is.

"Just get out!" I yell. As she doesn't move I go to get up.

"Hold on just a second. Listen to me now. I know you will at some point forget most of what I say. Don't forget this. Never, forget this," she says.
Looking into my eyes, she says,"No matter how broken you feel now, it will go awa-"

"No," I cut her off. "This will never go away." At this her eyes dart away from my face to look at my night stand. Reaching behind my lamp, she picks up an old picture showing my friends and I.

Looking back to me she asks, "Do you remember, when you were 12, and you broke your arm? The day you didn't think the pain would go away? How about when you got braces? Your teeth hurt for weeks."

I shrug then sniff, saying, "I still remember, but it doesn't hurt anymore. My arm is better and I have better teeth now. This is different though."

She lets me think for a second, placing the picture back, stopping to make sure it was in the right spot. Looking back to me, she says, "What about when your best friend told you she was moving? When she sent you a text the day before they were leaving? Is that not the same thing?"

This has me thinking. I did feel a lot like I do now. More convinced I say, "I guess it isn't that different. I still talk to her sometimes, but she isn't my best friend anymore."

"Now, as you grow up, the pain will slowest disappear. But if you get over it now? It will be gone much, much sooner." I nod my head. "So think of this now, in five years, will this still take up part of your head space?" I shook my head.  She continues, "Then why should it be worth even 5 minutes of your time now? Don't you wish you would have done something to take your mind off of your friend? If you get up and do something, it'll fade faster," she said, standing.

"Now there you go. Get your butt up, you're going to school today."
