Jinora POV.
It was just after Varrick and Zhou Li's wedding and Mako, Bolin, Asami, Opal, Kai, prince Wu, and myself were talking early in the morning on Air Temple Island as the sun was just coming up , while Korra was still asleep. Bolin said "Hey guys, you know what I just realized?" "No what?" Asked Opal, Bolin's girlfriend "Korra knows all about our past and we know absolutely nothing about her past!" Uh oh, I thought. "That's not totally true." Said Asami "Jinora does." Oh, great now I need to lie! That's just perfect! "Jinora spill." said Wu Gotta come up with a good one and fast I thought. "What's there to tell? She found out that she was the Avatar when she was five, the compound she was practically raised in was made in 6 months and she moved in right away. And spent years training to be the Avatar up until she moved here. You know the rest." I quickly lied. Deep down I was praying to the spirits they would believe me. "Wow, that was pretty blunt." Said Mako "Yeah, was that really all her childhood up until we met her?" Said Asami. "There's gotta be more to it than that Jinora." Kai questioned. "Look." I sighed in defeat. "If you want to know more you have to ask Korra yourself." "I gotta go feed Pepper" I said avoiding any more questions. "I'll go with you." Said Kai. "Okay." I replied. We walked in silence until we reached the sky bison stables, he finally said "Okay Jinora, you can tell me the truth now." Monkey rats I thought. "Look, if I tell you, you gotta promise not to tell anyone." "Promise!" He said as he made an X shape over his heart. "Thank you, Kai. One of the best things about being your girlfriend is that I know you keep your promises to me." I said as I smiled. "Good to know!" He laughed. " Okay, look. Korra's childhood and past wasn't the greatest and she doesn't want them to know." "Why" he questioned. "Because, she thinks everyone else's is was way worse. And she doesn't want to you guys to think she wants attention & pity." I said. "That's dumb. She should know we know she's better than that!" He replied. "That's what I said to her!" I exclaimed "At the end of the day only she can tell you." I said. "Okay, Jinora, thanks for being honest with me." He smiled. "What did I do to deserve a boyfriend like you." I said as I hugged him. "You charmed him, and believed in him." He laughed, then kissed me on my forehead. At least I can be honest to him I thought.
