Your POV
It's been about a week since mom left again. When she started vanishing I would cry and demand she come back, but after three years I've stopped caring about her all together. The house has basically become mine, decorated how I want it to be, using moms room as a storage, it was not to shabby under my care.
.
Today was another Monday. One of many in the life of a high schooler. Everyday was the same. I didn't really care for the people at my school. I didn't need friends when I've grown up to be completely independent. Walking through the hallways I see the things I see everyday, the group of lip-gloss snapchat addicts, the nerdy girls flipping over a cartoon guy, the smart quiet intimidating guys, and the jocks who always seem to be teasing Armin. Armin was his own kind. He stood at about 5:8, taller than me. I ignored the living scenery and headed to class.
.
.
I make fair grades, nothing bad that's for sure. I wait for the last bell of the day to ring while observing the people in our class. A select pick of people from the same everyday groups, and Armin. He sat with his head in his hands, looking through the closed window. He looked so sad. The closer I looked, I could see how... nice... he looks. Bright blue eyes, brilliant blond hair... No. Don't think about anyone like that. You don't need anyone. No one. RING
Everyone got up from their seats, hurrying to get out. You took your time to get packed.
As you headed into the courtyard you decided that it would be better to try out a new route home. Why not? It's not like you had to be home for anything. You started heading a certain way that you were pretty certain would take you home.
After about five minutes of walking down the sidewalk that would turn into a neighborhood, you could hear some voices in the distance behind you. "Hey Armin! What you doing here today? Ha! You following this chick?" You heard behind you. After hearing that last sentence you instantly turned your head over to see what was going on. The moment you see what's happening, you hear Armin get knocked down to the sidewalk. "N-no! I-I just wanted to try a new way home! That's all!" Armin said to the boy who stood taller and all around bigger than him. "Hey! Knock it off!" You yelled while approaching the scene. "What do you care? He was obviously following you." The boy said to you. "Just leave him alone! I don't need your help from something that's not even harming me!" You yelled. Why did people do this? Why prey on others? "Fucking bitch..." he muttered under his breath as he stormed away.
"Hey are you okay?" You said to him as soon as that boy left, holding out your hand to pull him up.
ARMINS POV
She helped me... (y/n)... what a nice girl... "I'm fine, thank you..." I said as I grabbed her hand getting up. So soft. Man, I really am a creep. I can't help it, but one of the reasons I chose to walk home this was was because she was walking this way. Of corse, I was mostly going this way for the new route. "It s-seems like we are headed the same way... do y-you want to w-walk together?" Oh god! I said that! And my voice was shaking the entire time what is- "Sure! I'm sorry for what happened... you know, I was planning on making spaghetti tonight. It's going to be way to much for me so you're welcome to come eat tonight. I know you're a nice kid, you don't deserve what those jocks do to you.
Your POV
'WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?!' You thought to yourself. You basically just asked him out?! What is wrong with you????
Armins POV
I felt my face begin to get red at the question. Woah, it's kinda like she's asking me out. It's not like we don't know each other, we have almost all the same classes. It's just different seeing her talk to me and care for me this much. "That would be really nice. My parents are out of town most of the time including now, so I would have just microwaved something. Thank you. What time do you want me to... show up?" GOD DAMN IT WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?! Well, can't say no to a free meal but I'm basically on pilot mode with my responses! "Oh, here let me see your phone" I hand her my phone. "Here, I put my contact in. I will text you when to come over ok?" Woah, holy cow I just got this girls number. Armin Alert, boy to scared to talk to basically anyone just got a girls number. My face felt hot.
Your POV
Watching him get so red was fun. Was he always this easy to fluster? "Well, let's start walking till we part ways shall we?"
.
Arriving at home, you bolted to your room and changed out of school uniform. You put on a nice but cozy (f/c) top with some black Nike shorts. You immediately began to get diner ready.
ARMIN POV
I walked into my house and changed into more casual clothes. A home cooked meal for once, that's rare. I never get home cooked meals because my parents are always out for business. It's fine, I can drive and survive on my own.
.
I get a buzz from my phone. I open it. It's a message from (y/n) saying to head on over to (home address). I got up and grabbed my phone, tied my shoes and got in my car. I didn't need to drive there, but I kinda secretly wanted to show off my car. I'm one of the only people in my grade who can drive so it was always nice to drive it around when I could show it off. I pulled up to the address written in the text and got out of the car. The house was... pretty small. It was almost like a trailer. Unlike my house which was actually very big. I began to worry. I was nervous for a simple dinner, pathetic. I don't even know why she helped me in the first place. I will never be as manly as the other guys at our school. Nor brave. I had to have someone else stand up for me.
I approach the door and ring the door bell. After a few seconds of waiting I see (y/n) dressed in a cute top and shorts. I choke. I've always been the most innocent boy in our grade so if corse I would get flustered at the sight of shorts. Suddenly I'm hit with a wave of delicious smelling pasta. "Hey, come on in." (Y/n) says. I step in and look around. It's like (y/n) decorated it herself. "Thank you again for inviting me. My parents are almost always out of town." I said to (y/n). "It's really no problem, I always love company." She says to me while leading me to the kitchen. Hm, where are her parents? "Hey, where exactly are your parents?" I asked her. She froze. Oh shoot oh shoot what did I do why is she frozen? "Uh, is everything ok? I-I'm sorry if I said something wrong I-" "no, it's fine. Your fine. My father is dead and my mother just... disappears. Don't feel bad about asking. I shouldn't be keeping it bottled up anyways." She told me. Woah, now I feel awful. So she just lives practically by herself? No wonder her house is so small and falling apart, it must have costed next to nothing. I couldn't help but feel bad. "Ok, aaaand done. You can take a seat at the table I will get the plates ready." I nodded and walked over to the table. It was squeaky and old. (Y/n) didn't deserve this... she needs to live somewhere with a stable roof over her head. Of course, my house is pretty spacious. Maybe if I ask I ca- "Here ya go. Home made spaghetti. If you count store bought noddles homemade." I looked down to the meal in front of me. "This actually looks really good!" I said. I meant every word of it. It actually looked very delicious. "Well Armin, dig in!"
