Jisoo is lost.
He has been running around in circles now seeing as he's faced with the tree he marked just a few moments ago. Looking up the sky peaking from the small partitions the leaves make caused him to sigh. It was already getting dark. The bleeding sky was a proof of that. And although he liked the color the sky was showing, he couldn't possibly enjoy it right now. He was too exhausted from walking around. Sadly, his efforts were futile as his feet seem to have brought him to where he started. Still, he knew he had to atleast try to find an exit and return to the village's path. He has to return home or else his mother might worry.
With that in mind, he took a deep breath and began his quest again.
....
It was already dark. The red sky was no where to be found and the only source of illumination was the light the full moon was willing to share.
Clearly, luck wasn't on Jisoo side. From the moment he began searching, after the short break he had, he was lead to the same tree for four times.
He sighed remembering each moment. Of all the many times he went in this forest, this is the first time he got lost. He knew where to pass and when to turn, but as if the forest was rearranging the path, he has been stuck in the same loop repeatedly.
"Oh, forest. Why must you torment me so?" He asked, even though he knew well that he wouldn't get a response. If by chance he still couldn't find the right way, he'll have to spend his night here in the forest. He doesn't have much choice. It's dangerous to wander in the dark.
"This is really troublesome." Jisoo heaved. He was about sit on the ground when something caught his eye. It was light. A single spec of light floating not far from where he is.
"A firefly?" He wondered, approaching the said insect. It's too early for them to be flying around, Jisoo thought. Still, seeing how the light flickered from the insects body made him smile.
"Are you lost too?" He asked the flying insect who began to fly back to where it came from. Once again, Jisoo was talking to himself. The light was getting smaller and smaller as the firefly went further into the direction it was heading. Seeing this, Jisoo decided to follow its light. He had nothing to loose at this point.
....
Not long after trailing behind the firefly, Jisoo saw a faint glow radiating from the direction they were heading.
"Light?" He muttered. How can there be light here in this isolated forest, he thought.
"Could it be fire?" He was starting to get confused. Why would there be fire in the middle of this forest, he thought, but then again, there might be another person stuck in the forest that was lucky enough to have brought a lamp or a match to start a small fire.
After taking a few steps more, he concluded that the glow was definitely not fire. If it was fire, he would have felt the heat slowly seep towards him from this distance. A few steps more confirmed his conclusion as the glow wasn't the same you'll see in a fire. The color infront of Jisoo wasn't anything near orange and crimson. It was blue, akin to that of the vast sky.
Unfazed with what he's seeing, Jisoo continued only to halt on his tract. He could hear a faint sound of water flowing from where he was.
"A stream?" He thought. As he went closer, the sound amplified and he knew immediately that it wasn't a stream just then. It was a waterfall. In the middle of the forest. In this isolated forest. Yes, in the middle of this forest. Things were starting to not make sense anymore. First, the blue glow that seems to grow brighter and clearer the closer he gets and second, the gushing from a waterfall that he's hearing. This is the first time he came across the certain fall even though he was so sure that he had explored and uncovered everything the forest has to offer. He would have known about the falls from his fellow villagers but not once did anyone mention anything about it.
He sighed once again. He lost count of the sighs he made upon entering this forest. 'Am I undergoing the gods' wrath?' He thought to himself, but he couldn't recall doing any misdeed that might anger the gods' for the past few days. If more, he was working diligently, tending to the fields and watching the livestocks all day.
He shook his head wearily. There's no use of thinking of things that won't help his current situation. He should just focus on getting to that falls. At least he'll have water to drink the moment he reaches the site.
Finally resuming his pace, he now saw two fireflies infront of him. Until they became three. And then four. Soon enough, from a single lonely firefly, the the whole area is now studded with them. The lights floating and dancing. It was a sight to behold.
"I suppose being lost has it's own positive side." He chuckled, admiring the scene for a few more seconds until he began walking towards the surrging sound of the water, it's scent hitting his nostrils. He went past a few trees before the body of water became clearly visible and upon seeing it, he froze. Grabbing the nearest bark he could to prevent himself from just falling on the ground, he tried to steady himself. His legs nearly gave out.
"What..." Jisoo was too baffled to continue his sentence. Now, nothing definitely makes sense anymore. Not with the water glowing a light shade of blue infront of him. How it was glowing, he doesn't know. Even the water gushing out of the rocks were glowing.
He slowly creeped towards the water's edge and tried to touch the water's surface when he realized that he wasn't alone. Jisoo's eyes grew wide when he spotted a person in the water, the person's bare back facing him, washing his long lustrous silver hair with his head tilted up toward the falling water, half of the person's body hidden underneath the bubbling water.
