Bella's P.O.V

"Mel, what are you even saying?" I shout over my best friend Melisa

"Bella!" she pants

"You're talking too fast slow down!" I giggle

"Fine, you know how every year I am shipped off to go see my cousin?"

"Yeah?"

"Well I don't have to do that anymore BECAUSE.......HE IS MOVING HERE!"

"That's great more time to spend together YAY!" I say jumping around like a lunatic

"well yeah but we will also have to spend time with him and Joe...."

"who?"

"Joe is Bens best friend he is coming to live with him also."

"oh I see well listen I can't wait to meet him call me when we're meeting I have to go my mum is calling me"

"okay I will, I love you BESTIE talk later!"

"I love you to BESTIE!" I laugh as I cut the call "coming mum!"

"you two spend more time shouting over the phone than you do talking you know that"

"sorry mum but she is my other half, the pen to my paper, ..."

"don't start that nonsense again, listen your dad just called he is having some guests around for dinner so I was wondering if you would like to invite Mel over as I don't know if this couple has kids or not."

"I'll ask her now, ..."

"Isabella wait I'm not done yet," she grabbed my arm

"yes muuum?"

"what do you want for dinner?" she bursts into laughter as she says it. I hate when she does this because we never get what I say

"really!" I say somewhat irritated "I don't know what do you want?"

"don't worry sweetie I already know what we are having, I just love doing that to you!"

"ahhhhh! I'm gonna go phone Mel!"

"so did they seem nice or not? Did they say how old their kids were?"

"Ruth, once again love, no they did not and yes they do seem very nice now can your please just relax!"

"Wow your mum really gets worked up about this!" Mel whispers in my ear

"Tell me about it." I make the worried face she had on and laugh really loudly, she shoots us a look which only makes us laugh even more

"why don't you to go to the deck and put some music on or something," my dad says moving closer to me "you're lucky she never saw that face!" he smiles and goes to help mum in the kitchen.

We laugh, almost hysterically, to the patio both making the face now.

"So, ummmm, how is your dad?" I look down unable to look at her

"Well, he isn't normally home when I'm awake so I'm not too sure, I think he is okay though."

Mel's mum left at the beginning of the year, she found a young man and after a whirlwind romance they just left. She sent the divorce papers through the mail, after talking with close friends Uncle Torben decided to just sign them. There was no custody battle or anything; he wanted Mel, she wanted the cat; Whiskers, that is what upsets Mel the most. The cleanest divorce my dad (his lawyer) has ever seen. It's only been three months but her dad is still struggling, he is working harder and longer to try and forget about it but now he very rarely sees Mel. She's at mine most of the time, but mum and dad love like their own so it's been a lot easier on her.
