Chapter 5

It's officially my first day as a student of Northfields University. I decided not to bring my books with me since puro orientation pa lang naman niyan ang mangyayari. I was walking to my first class when I caught Keira, Pierre and Greg with my eyes.

"Amber!" Keira caught my attention. I walked towards them and they did the same, meeting me halfway.

"Hello, you guys." I greeted them with a smile.

"How are you?" Keira asked me.

"I'm good. Thanks. How are you all doing?"

"Same, same." Pierre replied. "Daya mo ah," he even added, making my brows furrowed with confusion.

"M-Me? Madaya? How?"

"Ang tagal mong hindi nagparamdam!" He hissed. Napangisi na lang ako nang bigla kong maalala. Oo nga pala, simula nung nagkasagutan kami ni Gio doon sa backstage ay hindi na ako muli pang sumama sa mga gigs nila.

It's not that I want Gio to apologize for being an asshole— hell will freeze but that spawn of Satan would never apologize— I've been just very busy these past few weeks. We went out of town with my relatives, we also did a week outreach program that Tita Amanda and Tito Armando led. I met a lot of people... especially people who are struggling to get by on a day to day basis. Even women... I heard stories from them that I couldn't stomach. Stories that are far worse than the tragedies than Nicholas Sparks always write.

"I was just busy these past few weeks, guys. I didn't ghost you or anything." I explained.  Kung makatingin kasi ang dalawa ay parang napakalaki ng kasalanan na ginawa ko sa kanila. Bakit kaya hindi nila gayahin si Greg na chill lang?

"No you're still unfair. Ni hindi mo man lang kami tinawagan o tinext." sabi ni Pierre. This may sound sappy but that made me feel something warm inside my chest. It was as if they are considering me as one of them... they are making me feel like I belong to them.

"Hindi ko alam ang number niyo." natatawa kong sabi.

"May facebook, you can search for Keira Aragon."

"May twitter, you can search for Pierre Cruz."

"Kung gusto maraming paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan." iling-iling na sabi ni Keira. Seriously? Hindi ko alam kung ano ang ire-react ko sa dalawang ito. Buti pa si Greg tahimik lang na nakatingin sa amin.

"Sige, ganito na lang, ililibre ko na lang kayo mamayang paglabas. Deal?"

"Are you trying to bribe us?" Pierre said, his eyes narrowing a bit as a playful smirk drew across his lips.

I shrugged, smiling.

"We have a deal." ngising asong sabi ng dalawa. Napailing na lang si Greg.

"I can't wait! Have you guys tried the restaurant that just opened a week ago? Rumors said they serve the best Mexican foods!" sabi ni Pierre.

"Umamin ka nga, ginugutom ka ba sa inyo?" sa wakas ay nagsalita na si Greg.

"Nagsasalita ka palang gago ka." ganti na lang ni Pierre. Greg just shrugged. Haay. Namiss ko ang mga ito. Lalo na si Rylie, ang tagal niya talagang mag-ayos kahit na kailan. Kaya wala pa si Gio ay sigurado ako na si Rylie nanaman ang dahilan dahil hinihintay niya ang kakambal niya. Mabuti na rin 'yon na wala siya ngayon baka masira lang kasi ang araw ko.

WE'RE here in the cafeteria para mag break. Kasama ko si Rylie and we're waiting for the boys. Hindi ba't nangako ako sa kanila na ililibre ko sila? Nauna na kaming mag order ni Rylie dahil baka magutom lang kami sa kakahintay sa mga iyon. We decided to just eat here at one of the University's cafeteria since we only have an hour break. Next time na lang doon sa sinasabi na restaurant ni Pierre.
