Shut Your Petals, Echo!

The walk

Frisk was having some well deserved alone time after the long struggle they went through to save the underground. Alot has happened since then. It took a whle but the humans eventually got used to monsters being as friendly as they are. Asgore's reaction was pretty funny when he found out that we in fact do NOT have magic. Frisk sat on a bench taking deep breathes and looking around. They looked at the school where Toriel worked, then as Sans and Papyrus' new home, then at monster kids home. Frisk smiled and stood up before they began to walk there. Frisk hasen't seen their friends in a few days. About halfway to monster kids house, Frisk paused and sighed. They completely forgot that monster kid was out of town exploring the neighboring city. Frisk continued to look around befoe something hit them. Literally.

Frisk grunted and fell to the ground when a blue bone smacked the back of thir head. "Whoops! Hehe, sorry kiddo. My bad." Said a deep, lazy voice. Even though it still hurt a bit, Frisk couldn't help but smile as they got up and looked back at their friend Sans with a big smile. They signed, "Sans! You shouldn't be throwing bones! It's dangerous!" Sans chuckled. "Well kid, I am BONE to be wild." Frisk couldnt help but facepalm and do their own. breathy version of a laugh. Sans grinned. "Hey kid, Why don't we go for a walk?" He suggested. Frisk looked at him and tilted their head n a questioning manner. Sans grabbed their hand. Come on. Haven't seen ya in a while. It'll be nice to..." He paused and took out a red bottle from his jacket. "Ketchup." He finished with a wink. Frisk laughed again before giving a thumbs up.

Frisk held Sans' hand back as they continued to walk down the street. She poked Sans to get his attention. "Hm?" Sans said. Frisk signed, "Where are we going?" Sans shrugged. Wherever the wind takes us, I guess." He said. Frisk simply smiled. they looked at their feet as they walked. They weren't complaining about the silence in the air. Any time with Sans was fun to them.

Suddenly Sans broke the silence. "Hey, Frisk... There's something that I gotta tell ya..." He said. He seemed a bit unsure of what to say. Frisk looked up at him with a raised eyebrow. Sans was silent for a moment before speaking. "I know... You're not exactly happy here, are you..." He said. Frisks eyebrows raised a bit in surprise. Where was this coming from? Frisk had been smiling since they got back to the surface. Frisk shook their head and pointed at their big smile. "Why would I be sad? I have so many friends here and-" They signed until Sans grabbed their hands and interrupted them. "Frisk, stop." He said. Frisk simply stared at him, confused. Sans sighed. "I... I know what's been going on... And I know you don't want anyone to worry or anything... But you don't actually think that just wanting that will make it happen, right?..."

Frisk stared at Sans in shock. Where was all this coming from? Just moments ago he was telling bad puns and hitting them in the back of the head! Frisk shook her head and tried to make Sans release her hands so she could sign, but it was no use. "Frisk, I know you're unhappy... You know you're unhappy... I just wish you would tell me why..." Sans said. Frisk could feel the tears well up in their eyes as they stared up at Sans.

Sans was silent a moment before sighing. "Alright, alright... I won't force it out of you..." He said as he slowly let go of Frisks hands. "Guess after all those resets you still remember the big bad skeleton, huh..." He said as he turned and began to walk away. Frisks mouth dropped open a bit. "Sans knows about the resets?..." Frisk thought to themselves.

Frisk sighed. "Well so far today has been a disaster. They said, kicking a pebble and sitting against a tree. They stared at the ground for a bit before falling asleep. "Maybe I can find him later and set things straight..." They thought as they drifted off.
