Lights surrounded me, blinding my sight and all the pain in my heart. Screams echoed off of the wall and my heart thumped rapidly against my chest. The faint sound of music started to play behind me, but I felt as if I could not move. My eyes swiped the crowd and watched as people all screamed and cheered. I had to do this, I had to do this for me.

Midnight shadows

When finding love is a battle

But daylight, is so close

So don't you worry 'bout a thing

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

Baby don't you know

All of them tears gon' come and go

Baby you just gotta make up your mind

That every little thing is gonna be alright

Baby don't you know

All of them tears gon' come and go

Baby you just gotta make up your mind

We decided

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

I smiled at the cheering crowd, drowning my sorrows beneath the surface of my reality. Everyone looked up at me with bright eyes. People that I did not know who came to see me. I was getting more emotional at the thought. Both emotions of sadness and happiness were mixing together. That was not good.

Babe we're in slow motion

Can't seem to get where we're going

But the high times are golden

Cause they all lead to better days

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

Baby don't you know

All of them tears gon' come and go

Baby you just gotta make up your mind

That every little thing is gonna be alright

Baby don't you know

All of them tears gon' come and go

Baby you just gotta make up your mind

We decided

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright, ooh baby

We're gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

The song was over and I clutched the microphone in my hand. A genuine smile on my face as I looked out at the whole crowd. Little lights in the back flashed and I knew there were people there. I knew that every single seat in this arena was filled with people of all races, of whatever gender they are or want to be. Families were here, people in love were here and they were all here for me.
