(~August~)

"Wait what!?" I yelled.

"We're moving to Florida." My mother said.

"Why can't we just stay here in Georgia? We already started school and everything."

"Because I got a job that pays well there. Look don't question me and start packing, we need to be there by next week." She said folding up her clothes and putting it in a suitcase.

"What about dad and his job?"

"He is retiring and coming with us after two weeks or whenever they find a replacement."

"Wh.. Is that even possible he's only 43, isn't he too young?" I said flailing my hands.

"Look I said stop questioning me and start packing your damn bags." She shot me a glare.

"Bu-, fine." I said walking off to my room.

I packed my clothes not caring if it was neat. I eventually finished packing all my crappy hand me down clothes and dragged it into the hallway.

"Hey mom imma go out for a bit." I grabbed my phone.

"Okay just be back before the movers get here, which will be in about... 30 minutes" She called form her room.

"Okay." I said dragging my suitcase out of the house and leaving it on the porch.

I began wandering through my neighborhood; I put my headphones on and looked around at the houses, some empty some were huge, and some were small. I took in every bit of it as I could. From the prickly bushes to the stop signs there wasn't much to see but it was something I may never see again(I mean I would still see bushes and stop signs but not particularly that one). I continued walking and came across an old friend with some of her friends. I tried to pretend I didn't even see her but she saw me nonetheless. She tapped my shoulder and smiled at me as I turned around pulling off my headphones.

"Hey Wilma." I smiled awkwardly.

"Hey Kayla how have you been?" She asked.

"Oh i'm alive. How about you?" I asked trying to hurry the conversation.

Her friends glanced at each other furrowing her brows "Oh i'm great me and my friends are about to go to a new frozen yogurt shop. Oh wait let me introduce you guys. This is Jordan and Blake." She said gesturing to the girl and guy behind her.

"Oh uhm hi." I said as I was getting a little paranoid at how long they were staring at me. "I am about to move so I am just taking my last round about, so I got to go." I began to try and get away but she stopped me.

"Oh well you could join us if you want." I began to mentally freak out after she said that.

'No screw off. ' I thought.

"Sure why not." I said mentally slapping myself.

They're walking down the street and casually talking as I lingered in the back. 'I could easily just turn around and book it if I wanted to. Or maybe just quietly hide behind a fence and wait for them to go. No that'd be rude.' I contemplated in my head. I eventually just decided to keep going and see what would happen. After a couple of minutes I had gotten a call and began mentally celebrating; it was mom calling to tell me the movers were there and to hurry and get back to help.

" Uhm I am about to go ahead and go it was cool meeting y'all." I said beginning to walk as fast as I could away.

"Oh wait we should start to text each other again, you know, to catch up?" She said pulling out her phone.

"I forgot she was there." the guy 'Blake' I think whispered.

"Me too!" She laughed.

Wilma elbowed them and pulled out her phone. "Here's my phone number."

"O-okay" I stuttered pulling out mines.

We exchange numbers and I speed walked away from her and her possy. After like 10 minutes I got back to the house and I got a message. I ignored it and began helping to move the furniture and dismantling some of them. I went to my brothers room and began bothering him.

"Are you happy about leaving and going to Florida? " I said plopping down watching him pack his stuff.

"It sucks, we grew up here and I would be ditching my friends." He scoffed.

"Did you try to talk to mom about it?" I said pulling out my phone.

"No because she isn't going to change her mind." He sighed.

"Yeah well I guess it'd be best to say adios to your peeps then. We have to get there by next Saturday, as in done setting up the house or apartment and everything by then." I said looking at my notifications and seeing it was Wilma.

"But I have to finish packing though."

"I can finish packing your shirt and pants for you but I am not doing your underwear! " I said wagging my finger up and down.

"Thanks!" He said walking out the room.

"You owe me one!" I called after him.

I opened my messages and read the text

'Hey sorry about my friends. '

'No problem ' I texted back.

' So where are you moving to? '

' I'm moving to Florida.'

She didn't text back so I put on my favorite song and began packing up his shirts and placing it into his bag. I heard my notifications go off but I was too into the song to stop now. After 10 minutes of the song repeating I went ahead and looked at my notifications.

'Oh.' is what she said.

'Oh, that's it. Really she always does that! Whatever.' I thought shoving his clothes into his suitcase. I put on my favorite playlist and began thinking to myself.

'This year sucked! All my friends were able to make friends and forget about me while i'm here friendless. Maybe if I change myself completely I would be SO much better off...' I thought and then froze 'Oh my glob... That would be so sly, and so fun! I could change my name, my personality, and my clothes! I could stop being blue and be orange! But what should my name be..?' I thought pacing back and forth.

'Gemini! My name is Gemini and i'll be outgoing, blunt, kind, a pushover, and just the complete opposite of me. With mom and her new job she could actually buy me some decent clothes! This'll be wonderful!' I screamed in my head falling on what I thought was the bed but was actually his suit case.

"Ow." I groaned standing up rubbing my back. I began smiling to myself and continued packing up his stuff.
