"Oh um sure...I mean yeah...no um I uh um I uh yes I'll show you around" I said mentally slapping my self at my extreme awkwardness.
The bell rang as soon as I finished my sentence he chuckled "I guess you can start the our by showing me to my first class" he paused taking his schedule out of his book bag "which is Art."
"Oh um actually you could just um follow me there then Art is my first class as well" I said as I shoved my things into my bookbag.
"Well actually do you think you could just give me the directions instead because I have to go to the main office first to fill out some paperwork and I wouldn't want you to get in trouble for being late or anything."
My face fell slightly I get it now he didn't want to be seen with me which as completely understandable but he really didn't have to lie about it "Oh um alright then um if you're coming from the main office then you'll want to go down the hall, take a left, then walk down to the end of that hall and the art room is the last door on the right." I said softly before gathering the rest of my things and hurrying out the door.
I continued the long walk to art walking as fast as I could because I haven't been tardy once this year and I wasn't going to start now. I turned the corner smiling triumphantly when the art room came into view when I ran into a hard object that felt like the equivalent of a brick wall. I looked up to find that it was Chase One of the Schools biggest tools. I sighed "what do you want now Chase?"
He had a big smirk on his face "Oh come on Miranda can't I ever just talk to you."
"No, no you can not because everytime you do talk to you me it's only to ask me the same question to which the answer will always be no."
"Come on Miranda please just this once I'll never ask you to do it again I'll even split the money with you if it meansthat much to you." he pleaded
The it he was refering to was my virginity and the money he said he would split with me was the prize he would get for taking it. He and a couple of his friends made a bet at the beginning of the year that if Chase could find a girl (preferably a virgin) that he hadn't slept with yet to willingly ask him to take her virginity and sleep with him then he would get five hundred dollars. Although If he lost the bet and didn't get said girl to give up her virginity before the last month of school then he would have to publically apologize to her in the middle of every single one of her classes, in the cafeteria, in the middle of the courtyard and over the announcements staying at her side the entire day until she walked into her house. Unfortunantly that said girl was me oddly enough out of the handful of girls he hasn't slept with he chose me for some unknown reason and I had no plans of giving that up to anyone at this school let alone Chase. As much as I would hate spending more than five minutes with Chase let alone an entire day with him I would also hate to lose my virginity to him.
I sighed "No is no Chase" I said trying to push past him but he wouldn't budge.
"I'm not moving until you say yes" he said smugly.
"Really Chase you didn't have to choose me you could have chosen any of the other girls you havent slept with yet I mean I know you like a challenge and all but this is get a little out of hand now" I said exsaperated.
He opened his mouth to retort but Mrs. White came up stopping him before he could "Now Chase you know that harrassment of any kind is not tolerated in this school and I most certainly do ot tolerate it in front of my room" she scolded pushing passed him with surprising ease. "Oh and chase" she said turning around "stop flirting and let the poor girl get to class,I understand that Miranda is a very pretty girl but you can strike out with her after school." Chase was too stunned to say anything and reluctantly moved out of the doorway letting me get to my seat the bell ringing just as I sat down.
