Love Changes

A First Date

It's been a couple of weeks since school has started. Nay is such an extrovert, she's always making plans for us when I'm off from work. It's actually refreshing from always being home alone. I thought I liked being alone but going out with friends is a lot better.
We hang out with Juwan, Dylan, and Pryce sometimes too. Also come to find out, pryce has been in one of my classes and just never shows up.

Just a band tee and some straight leg jeans today. It's been a better few days. I've done my hair and the curls are actually holding up with less frizz.
I'm getting ready to grab breakfast when I see my mom packing up her lunch bag.
" Wow, I'm surprised you're here."
" Only for a little bit. I have a double today.." she pours coffee in her travel mug. " You need any money or anything?"
" No, I'm good."
" Okay, i love you. See you later." She quickly kisses my cheek then head out to the garage.
" I love you too.." i lost my appetite hearing about my moms work. I always do. Just as I'm grabbing juice out the fridge, when Nay texts me she's outside. I grab my bag off the couch and leave out the front door.
" GOOD MORNING THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!"
" Oh gosh, it's too early for you to be this loud Nay." I sit down and close the door.
" I'm sorry, but it's FRIDAY!! And an early out!"
" Yes very exciting now shh."
" Okay okay grumpy pants."
" Grumpy pants?" I laugh.
As soon as Nay parks we see the boys standing in the parking lot. They're hanging out around Pryce vintage dodge challenger. It's actually really nice. Refurbished and blacked out. I climb out of Nay's car and immediately make eye contact with Pryce.
He winks at me and I grab my bag. I already knew Nay would not want to head straight in. I roll my eyes and follow her over to juwan and Dylan.
" Wassup West."
" Hey Dylan."
" Aye Nay.. come on." Dylan puts his arm around her and takes her to his car.
" Nay what about-"
She just looks back at me, giving the 'shut up' look. I cross my arms and roll my eyes, yet again. I want to walk off, I want to leave and just go to class.
" westlyn, you are so bad." He bites his lip, and takes my hand in his.
" Thanks Jawan." I smile.
" Aye you better back off of my girl Jay."
" Your girl? For how long?" Jawan laughs.
" Bro shut up." Pryce turns around and leans on his car.
" Awe poor Pryce."
" Jawan stop messing with pryce." I walk over and pinch his cheeks. " Let's go."i grab his arm. We both smile as he walks me to my class.
"West, imma take you out after school."
"Hm?"
He stops and leans against the lockers, "Just me and you."
"And do what?"
He shrugs, "we'll see."

I went straight out to Pryce car when school ended. Nay tried to convince me not to go out with him, buts it's literally one date. Not like i'm in love with the guy. it's just for fun.
and it was fun! We went to the movies and then grabbed a bite to eat. He paid for everything and kept insisting that I get whatever I want. 'Money isnt a problem.' I will say that annoyed me because money doesn't impress me.
Now we're sitting in the car while he's driving. The sun is starting to lower in the sky.
" Where are we going now?"
" You'll see mamas, just enjoy the ride."
" But what.."
" Shut up with the questions."
After a few minutes minutes of driving, Pryce pulls up on a hill that over looks the city. We get out and lay on the hood of his car. The sun is beginning to finally set and the sky has changed to an orange color.
" Oh my gosh..... this is beautiful!"
" You're beautiful.."
i scrunch up my nose, "Don't be corny."
Laughing, " I'm serious." He smiles at me, " Don't get all weird on me though." He leans back.  Pryce looks up at the sky. " I actually got feelings for you.." he looks me in the eyes then grabs my chin and leans in.
" Pryce-"
He kisses me so softly at first that I barely feel his lips. His mouth parts to slide is tongue into mine. I follow suit, slightly opening my mouth. Our kiss is gentle, it's natural... both of us in tune with the other. Just then pryce phone starts ringing. The rhythm breaks. I lose concentration on him. He ignored it first, but when the ringing stops and then starts back immediately he groans.
Pryce pulls away, " Fuck!" He picks his phone up and answers it, " This better be important." Pryce listens for a while, then sits up, " I'll be there in a lil." He hangs up, " I'm sorry.." he slides off the car then helps me off.
" For?"
" Having to cut this date short."
" There was something after this?"
" No, not really."
" Well then nothing to be sorry for." I smile at him.
" We gonna go out together again soon love."
" You get one date, and then think I wanna just see you all the time."

A few weeks after our date, was weird. We went out again but it wasn't as nice as the first time.
I drove Nay and I today, but as soon as we got to school Nay ditched me to go to breakfast with Dylan. It's become a morning habit of hers. I was hanging out with Juwan for a while because pryce wasn't here either.
" You wanna get out of here?"
" I got class..."
" Do something other than school or work for once." Jawan grabs your hand.
" I do! When I'm off.."
Pryce car finally pulls into the parking lot but he's not alone.
He gets out, looking at me and Juwan. "What's going on?"
" just trying to convince Westlyn to let loose a little," he lets go of my hand.
The other person gets out of Pryce car. We make eye contact before she uses her reflection in the window to touch up her hair.
Pryce looks at the girl. She walks over to him, kissing his cheek.
" Bye P." She bites her lip and then looks at me, before walking off.
Pryce doesn't even look at me. I watch the girl walk off then look at Juwan, he looks down. I finally look at Pryce.
" you're a dick." I fix my bag and storm off towards the school.
" What?"
I don't know why I'm mad.. Pryce and I are dating but we're not together officially. But really? To do that right in front of me? When you said you liked me? No respect whatsoever.
Once lunch rolled around, there was still no Dylan or Nay. I'm walking to my car by myself when I feel an arm around my shoulders. 
" Where do you want to go for lunch?"
I look up making eye contact with pryce. " I'm not going with you." I look away from him and dig for my keys.
" Why not?"
" Cause i don't want to." I open my door to get in, but Pryce closes it then leans back.
" Well I want you to." His hand hold on to both sides of my waist.
" Leave me alone."
He pulls me closer to him, "I just wanna talk... honest."
" There's nothing to talk about." I push him off my door and climb in.
Pryce is now standing between my car and the door. Looking at me.
"We can talk after school. I just really want to be alone right now."
He nods, "I'll respect that." He closes the door.
