"OMG!!! Who do I invite?" I say to my best friend about the weekend before my birthday party.
"Well your mom told you that you can invite as many people over as you want for your party. Let's make a list of who you want to invite," my best friend Brittney says. She's been my best friend since middle school. We have been by each others sides and helped each other through everything.
"Let's go tell my mother whats going on," I respond. "Your going to be there, right?"
"Of course I will! Why wouldn't I be there for your 16th birthday? I'll be here the day before the party to help you get set up. I'll be here for you from the start and finish of that party. I'll be here the day after as well to help clean up the mess from the party," she responds.
"Okay. Thank you for helping me plan this. It means so much to me. I love you babes," I say.
"I love you more. Now, let's go tell your mother what's going on so she isn't clueless."
"Right! I almost forgot we had to tell her," I say with a giggle. "MOM!! COME HERE!!"
"What do you need?" my mom asks. "You need to clean your room. It's a mess!"
"I'll clean when we're done planning everything. It's not that messy. And we were just going to let you know that we are making a list of people to invite to my party and I was going to ask if it was possible that we go to a hotel swimming pool?" I say.
"I suppose we could do that and just make sure you don't invite too many people," she responds.
"Thank you!! I love you," I say.
"Love you too," she sighs. "You're growing up way too fast."
