Tyler's POV-

I tap my biro pen on the notebook in front of me as I twist a piece of hair on top of my head.

Maybe my parents are right. Maybe I should just stick with basketball... After all, it's the only thing I'm good at.

I groan in frustration, drop my pen onto the notebook and rest my head in my hands.

"You're right, giving up is good. You should give up on life too, Nothing left for you here."

The voice spoke out in my head causing me to squeeze my eyes shut and for my hands to go to my ears in the hopes of it stopping.

"You're worthless, your parents think you are too. Your sister and brothers laugh at you, making fun of you. You're pathetic."

It spits it's final words before leaving me in complete silence. It was deafening, violent.
Thinking everything over in my head, wondering if I even have a place in this world I slowly rose from the desk in my basement and up towards the front door.
I feel like a zombie, I haven't slept in days, my eyes sunken and the outline of heavy bags hung below them.
I grab a jacket and head out into the open.
It's cold as I can see my breath, but I can't feel the low temperature engulfing me. Completely numb to the outside world, I walk towards the one place I know to be alone.

Streetlights turn on, one by one, as I walk past them creating a dim orange glare. The occasional car passes by illuminating my hollow self. The sky dark and hopeless as the clouds engulf the moon.

I reach my sweet sanctuary, the bridge, which I'd always gone to since I was a child. I stare at the black water, hearing the sound of traffic mixed with the trickling of the drops below.

This time it wasn't enough to just see the water. I had to feel it, I had to feel something...
I begin to climb the railing of the bridge which stood 30ft above the water.
