"I'm not ready for this," I sighed, staring at the carpeted ground.
My mom looked at me, and put her hand on my shoulder. She straightened the collar of my floral blouse.
"Honey, I've seen you perform. You're an amazing actor, singer and dancer. And, if the worst comes, show them your artwork. It's beautiful."
"Mom, what if I'm not good enough?"
"Your cousin got in, darling, and you're ten times better than her," she assured me, and I sighed once more. My mother had never been a reliable source of information.
"Now you better hurry. You don't want to be late."
I rushed out of the door, getting into my small car. It was duck egg blue, my favourite colour.
I drove to Hollywood Arts, the school I would be auditioning for.
I walked in, looking around. Everything looked so artistic and creative, pieces of art everywhere. Dancers performed on the staircase, showing their skills to whoever wanted to see.
An older guy walked up to me, and with a soft voice he asked, "Do you need anything?"
"Oh, yes, please. My name is Pixie. I have an audition in three and a half minutes."
"I see, here. I'll walk you to the black box. I'm Laine, the guidance counsellor."
"Fun."

An awkward walk later, I was waiting outside of the black box, hoping the overrun audition would end soon.
My hands were sweaty and my anxiety had been triggered. I made an attempt to steady my breathing, but that made it worse. I paced around, trembling, until I was saved my a group of teens my age.
"Hey. What's up?"
"Oh. Hi. I'm Pixie, I'm just having a panic attack, is all. I'm about to audition."
"Don't stress, girl. I'm Andre. Just practice for us."
I calmed a little, controlling my breath better. I began playing my ukulele, singing my song.
"What time you coming out? We starting losing light. I'll never make it right, if you don't want me round. I'm so excited for the night, all we need's my bike and you're enormous house. You said some very might, when I'm closer to your heart and then we'll knock around, endlessly." I sang with all my heart. "You're all I need-"
"Oh, my goodness." A man in a yellow shirt and a sweater said, peeking out of the door.
"I'm sorry. Did I interrupt the audition?"
"Not at all! That was...amazing! I'm shocked. You don't have to audition. Come back tomorrow. Welcome to Hollywood Arts."

A/N: I hope you liked this chapter. It's not the best but the first is just the beginning. It will get so much better, I promise. Also! Miss Daisy Clark up there is only there because doddleoddle has not done a cover of this song. But, yes, Daisy will be replaced in chapters to come. Basically, Pixie sings like Dodie, and her British origins show in her voice when she sings. Anyway! See you all in the next chapter.
Mina, out!
xoxo
