It's autumn, and as always in London, is raining. But today's a very special day for me, a day nobody can forget, it's my wedding. Nothing spectacular some of you would think, but no... my wedding is unforgettable because I met Nick, in a weird way, but I met him.
Everything was great, I was dancing with my "just married" husband and drinking some champagne while a band was playing rock music such as "should I stay or should I go". Five minutes after the dance started my phone rang, it was my sister from New York telling me that she would be at the wedding in 5 minutes. I was so excited to see Charlotte after a while! We have always had a beautiful friendship.
She arrived and she started dancing with me, i brought her to know my husband's parents which were very surprised to see her.
Finally the most awaited moment arrived: the humanitarian speech.
Yes, my lovely husband's dad was one of the most important humanitarian ambassadors in London.
He was holding a wonderful speech when he was interrupted by a door slam and a wave of photographers taking pictures. I finally saw what this fuss was caused by. It was a man, tall with dark hair and blue eyes. He was holding the hand of a little African boy. He interrupted in a very rude way and he pushed me off my chair, with no apparent reason. I was so confused I didn't know what to do. He rushed to my table and took the champagne bottle, I thought he was going to break it but he didn't. He then started to speak to the crowd, words that I could never ever forget, words that changed my life... for ever. " 1000 people dying in Africa but you're getting drunk for good cause right?". Henry's father (Henry is my husband) started freaking out and he whispered something to a body guard. Nick continued, he gave the champagne bottle to the kid after pouring it down on the floor and said:" I'm sorry you haven't met yet, this is JoJo,he's curious about your dinner cause when I met him he was that hungry he was trying to eat his own tongue, no listen i want to be onset, he was a pile of bones in a pool of shit and I don't mean the civilized thing either, this was liquid fucking evil. If any of you can say something about this: I have 2000 people with only 2 camps in Africa. And some fucking asshole here is having fun with parties in London instead of being there helping us. ". He then took out a paper sheet and read it in front of Larry (Henry's father). He basically said that Larry's association wasn't going to keep on delivering the food stocks to Nick's camp in Ethiopia. Larry was as red as a tomato, I knew there was something wrong. He didn't answer, he just starred at Nick, knowing he was not doing things like he was supposed to. When Nick turned again back to JoJo someone from the crowd threw a banana, I didn't have the possibility to see who that asshole was or I would have certainly killed him before he could speak. Nick picked up the banana, peeled it and gave it to the kid. He then added:" Oh funny, you want him to go OH OH like a monkey? Okay fine, he can do that for you.". Then says to JoJo something in African that can be translated with:" JoJo do like a monkey". JoJo did it. I was bursting in tears. Nick finished with:" 100 calories in one banana, more than he gets in a day.". After this the police ran in and got the kid, Nick got out before they could get him. I was marked. After this, I knew what I was supposed to do, I found what I wanted to dedicate my life to.
