(Mia) The coffee shop, Corners Café, was at its usual. Packed. I shouldn't complain, since it keeps me in a job, but really, for such a good sized town, (not to mention a college just around the corner) you would think there would be more than one coffee shop. Although, I have to admit, even if there was 100 different coffee shops in town, I'd probably still go to this one. It's tucked into a bookstore, a cozy little spot in the corner, with brown wooden tables and comfy little white chairs with soft padded cushions. On my break, I like to grab myself a coffee (I get it for free, and God knows I'd never, EVER, pass up an opportunity for free coffee) and just walk around the book store. It makes me feel... I don't know what. Safe, I guess. At home. Surrounded by all these books, these portals to another, imaginary, magical land. It's comforting.
I actually love my job, which is something not many people can say. I mean, they could speak it if they wanted to, but, you know what I mean. I love the rush of everyone, the smell of the coffee, all of it. As I ring up what must be my thousandth customer of the day, I feel happy. The group of teenage girls chatting happily about how their semesters are going, the group of characters with pyjama bottoms and two days worth of stubble that are obviously from the college down the road, the old couple holding hands and smiling like they were 16 again. Awww. I hope I have that when I'm older. They're so cute! I totally ship them.
