She hated the color blue. Not just any blue but cerulean blue. The blue that every kid in the class wanted to play with. The same color blue as Wendy's no good manwhore of an ex-boyfriend's eyes. Unfortunately, it was also the color of the ocean that rolled beneath the ship carrying her from Florida to the newly opened Fae resort, Never Isles.

When the supernatural world decided to come out of their perpetual closet, a whole array of new places seemed to pop up out of nowhere. The lost city of Atlantis? Yeah, not so lost anymore when it appeared in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, teaming with merpeople who could switch between human and mermaid at a whim.

So, it shouldn't have been a surprise when smack dab in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle an Island appeared with hundreds of Fae pouring out of it. Now advertised as a resort, it was the destination spot for those looking for a getaway from mundane adult life. Considering what she left behind in New York, Wendy needed a gateway more than anyone else.

Growing up had never been hard for Wendy. Especially not with her family in England, where she was expected to be mature and know how to act. It was no surprise that at the age of nine she knew she wanted to be a lawyer. Something about being in front of all of those people defending someone else's honor set right with her. So, twenty years later, after almost a decade of school, she had fulfilled that goal by landing a respectable junior associate at Darlings and Darlings, L.L.P.

The law firm was run by the two sons of the Darling clan, and Wendy had instantly been drawn to Michael, the younger one. Against her better judgment, she'd started a secret relationship with him. The company had a strict no fraternization policy, but Michael had assured her that it would be fine, as long as they kept quiet. She'd trusted him; that was, until she walked in on him and a big busted dark haired beauty in the copy room.

Now all Wendy wanted was to forget about him and New York. The best way to do that was a fun filled week of nothing but relaxation and maybe even a bit of naughtiness, if she found the right guy.

"Miss." A voice sounded from her side, pulling her brown eyes away from the waters and to the sailor's pinched face. "We are coming up on port now, make sure you have all your belongings, and I suggest standing back from the railing."

"Of course. Thank you." Wendy nodded her head and tucked the chestnut colored hair that blew over her face behind her ear. Sighing, her light blue eyes glanced toward the approaching emerald green trees of the island.

If she did find someone to make her forget about Michael, it would be for fun only. No more relationships for her. At least not for a while. After up and quitting her first real job as a lawyer she needed to refresh and recharge. Then she would be ready for anything those sniping New York lawyers could throw at her.

Stepping off the platform and onto solid ground, Wendy's eyes widened as she scanned the area before her.

Many different images had crossed her mind when she decided to come to the Never Isles, but none of them could have prepared her for the completely and utterly boring port market.

There were vendors set up along the coast, each trying to peddle their wares to the passing tourists. The island must have been bigger than she thought, because there were taxis lined up, waiting to take passengers to their destinations. Wendy wouldn't be needing any of them, because she was staying on the sea front. In all honesty, she was a bit put off by the lack of difference from any other resort she had been to.

Where were the supernatural creatures? The magic and the wow? She couldn't see any of the promised panty wetting fae or the promise of instant relaxation she was supposed to feel the moment she stepped on the island. If anything she was tenser than before.
