In addition to the chapter, boo_204 and I will be putting in a song that we think either fits a character or the chapter! This chapter's song is "Pretty Girl" by Maggie Lindemann. We think it is the perfect song for Skylar! Song credit to waifus

"Skylar. Skylar!"

"Huh? What" I exclaim, snapping my head up to attention, still unsure where I was or what had happened earlier. "This is high school Miss King. We do not take naps here. Now if we were in preschool on the other hand..." Oh shit. It's fifth period. "Oh god," I say nervously as I realize that all eyes are on me. "I'm sorry!"

"Detention. After School. 3:30-4:30. Room 10" Crap.

If you can't already tell, my name is Skylar King and I'm 16 years old and a junior in high school. Just a normal girl who falls asleep in the back of class and forgets to pack lunch practically everyday. Yup. Welcome to my life. Sucks to be you, having to be introduced to me.

~After School in Detention~

I swear, detention will be the death of me. No books, no phone, no music, and worst of all, no after school snacks! Tick. Tick. Tick. This is bullshit. Tick. Tick. Tick. Screw this. Tick. Tick. Tick. Wait. What was I thinking?

"Is it over yet?"

"35 minutes"

Tick. Tick. Tick

"Now?"

Tick. Tick. Tick

"How about now?"

"Keep asking and it'll never end."

Tick. Tick. Tick

"You're free to go Miss King"

"Thank you! I won't fall asleep tomorrow! Promise!"

"Well let's not be making any promises Miss King" Mr. Green chuckles as a sped out of the room.

After my detention I decided to go to 7-11.

When I arrive to 7-11, walking, I realize I only have five dollars. So, debating wether I should skip 7-11 or just get an Arizona, I choose the Arizona, because I mean, who wouldn't want the tea. But then again, should I get it? They have a lot of sugar. You know what, fuck it, I'm really feeling a tea right now. I walk in and a bell goes off notifying, the workers that I, the customer, have arrived. Noticing this, the two guys behind the counter stop making-out, and act like nothing happened. I glare at them and then get on with my day. My neighborhood is definitely the mixed type: LGBT, African, Mexican, you name it, we've got it.

I walk to the back where the fridges are and grab an Arizona tea. When I go up to pay, one of the guys behind the counter whispers to me in a low tone.
"How much?" What the hell is his deal man.
"How much what?" I question suspicious.
"Cocaine." Damn, he's a drug dealer.
"Not today," I say trembling, going with it.
"Maybe next time." He says, handing me my change for the Arizona.

I'm out, goodbye sketchy 7-11. Once someone offers me highly illegal drugs, I'm gone. Once I walk out everyone who was working walks out and locks the door to the 7-11. So does the manager. He looks like a bad guy from a movie or something. Bald, gold chains, bright purple shirt, white pants, even an earring. He's very broad-shouldered too. All of them walk to the only car parked in the parking lot in front. That's the last thing I saw before I walked out of sight, and then ran.

"Hey mom it's me," I say talking into my phone for the voicemail. "Skylar, your favorite child. So I got detention again for falling asleep in class. After that I walked to 7-11 to get an Arizona. I'll be home in about 10 minutes. Love you."

My current situation includes my mom on a trip in California. I call her everyday and keep her up to date on things that are happening. She going to kill me when she gets back to Massachusetts. I'm just living with my older twin brother right now, Bryce. Older by exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Which just happened to be on May 31 and June 1. I always get teased for that. Wait, what about her dad? That's probably what you're thinking. I have his eyes. My dad didn't make it back from his mission in Afghanistan. Let's leave it at that.

I walk up the stairs to my room just after shouting 'I'm home' to Bryce. With a usual response of 'Great' probably followed by an eye roll. I plop down on my bed and my backpack drops at the foot of it. I pull out my Arizona and my laptop to do some homework on. When I open my Arizona I set it on my bed and open up my laptop. I just start to type in my password when my Arizona topples over on to my laptop.
"SHIT!" I curse.
"What now?!" Bryce yells back.
"I'm fine," I say, thinking of something witty. "Just carry on with making out with Chelsea." Witty McWitter they call me. Chelsea is Bryce's girlfriend. Who is very much a hoe. I lift up my Arizona and immediately get some paper towels to wipe down my laptop. Not that much got into my laptop, thankfully. When I come back from throwing the paper towels away, I notice a little glitch in the corner of my screen. The whole screen turns black and a robotic left hand shows up. Little did I know that little glitch will lead to something big. Even bigger than I can imagine.
