This was the first recipe I ever made for myself, I invented it at my grandparents' house. The meat can be swapped out for any lunch meat except roast beef because I don't know how it will taste with the other ingredients. Hope you enjoy!
Makes enough to feed eight
Ingredients:
-16 large eggs, 18 small eggs
-8 slices of ham, chopped into cubes
-1/2 A bag of Shredded cheese(any kind, I use cheddar or mexican/taco blend
-1 Teaspoon of Garlic powder(max, I normally just shake it a bit)
-1 Teaspoon of basil
-3 Tablespoons of milk
Instructions:
1. Begin by combining all the ingredients, except for the milk, and whisk them together, breaking up the yolks.
2. If needed, add the milk and whisk until combined.
3. Place a large skillet on the oven, greased with butter or cooking spray or in a non-stick pan.
*In my experience, butter helps the outside to firm and crisp a bit more while adding flavor. Just a little dollop of butter melted in the pan does the trick*
4. Add the omelette mix to the pan and heat it to a medium-high degrees, based on how fast you want it to cook.
5. Once the bottom of the omelette is cooked(normally between five and ten minutes depending on heat), fold the omelette in half.
6. Flip the omelette every three or so minutes until it is finished cooking(you can tell when it isn't as bendy as your flipping it).
7. Allow it to cool for a minute or two before cutting it into sections to eat.
8. Serve and Enjoy!
