Parks are terrifying places at night, and Kings Park in Perth is no exception. At slightly over 4km squared, it's larger than Central Park in New York or Hyde Park in London. And when the sun goes down and the lights go out, it plays host to some very spooky legends.

The spookiest of all is the Satanist rumour. It's said that on certain nights, a coven of Devil worshippers take to the park, where they perform all sorts of weird rites. Occult symbols are drawn, figures are burnt and orgies take place on the grassy slopes. But, every once in a while, the coven also offers up something extra special: a .

The legend is further fuelled by occasional reports of local homeless men going missing. It's said that those who sleep in the park run the risk of becoming the coven's latest offering to their hideous God. The legend almost certainly has no basis in fact, but you won't catch us wandering around King's Park after midnight. Just in case.
