chapter 19

guess what...........

there's only roughtly........ one? two? chapters left until-------

nova's pov-

i sat the pup on the bed he stared up at me his green eyes were wide with fright

"why am i here alpha?" he whispered quietly and i casted a look back to felix through the open door where he stood guarding it

"that's the same question i wanted to ask you" i said kneeling in front of him

he stared at me for several long drawn out moments before replying with a "i ran away"

"why did you run away?" i asked standing up to sit next to him only for him to snuggle into my side

"because mommy and daddy didn't want me any more" he mumbled

"i'm sure mommy and daddy love you very much" i consoled stroking my fingers through his soft hair he shook his head furiously

"they don't care about me anymore, their having tanisha and they're forgetting about me" he started crying again "so i left"

"how long go was this?" i said pulling him into my lap

"three days ago" he sobbed burying his face in my shoulder i rubbed his back

my parents were not very nice to me i couldn't square off with him or even meet him halfway all i could do was comfort him

"what's your name?" i asked quietly

he didn't answer his face remained pressed into my shoulder and i continued to rub his back in slow comforting circles

"leonardo" he answered after a long stretch of time as he yawned rubbing his eyes

"how old are you leo?"

"six" he mumbled

"well leo i'm sure that they love you very much" i said again "who couldn't love you" i felt more then one pair of eyes on me "you're so brave" i whispered and he looked up at me

"really?" he asked and i nodded

"and strong too" kieara laughed as his chest puffed out he smiled a megawatt smile only to frown

"but momm--"

"and even if you think they don't love you they do leo and they are probably really worried about you now i told him pulling back to stare at his face that filled with unushered tears that i swiped away before they could fall "and the best thing you can do is go home and help them care for you little sister and protect her like a big brother should"

"you're right luna i'm so sorr---" he rubbed his eyes sleeply, laying his head on my shoulder as his eyes flutter and he slowly drifted off to sleep

"the bravey of an alpha but the energy of a toddler, he  will make a great warrior one day" kieara voiced

i smiled standing up i carried him to my side laying him in it watching as he curled up to sleep smiling even wider at the presence i felt behind me

"why is our pack depressed and a pup in our bed" daniel mumbled against my neck laying a kiss there

"his name is leo and i found him down stairs being chased around the lounge room by four of our warriors while the others were beating up felix, why they are depressed might be because of the fact i scodled them for harming an innocent pup

daniel chuckled "you're feeling better then?" he whispered and i smiled

"mmhrm"

i turned around in his arms pressing a soft kiss to his lips "we need to find which pack leo belongs to i said as daniel lifted me off the ground carrying me out of the room closing the door behind him he set me down in the hallway

daniel's pov-

i had arrived back at the pack house earlyier then i thought i would i was tired and ready to drop as soon as i had entered the double doors my legs carried me on as i greeted the small group of pack members in front of me they said nothing only bowing in my presence i frowned but thought nothing of it maybe nova knew why they were so .... depressed

i climbed the  stair case slowly following the mixed scent of nova felix and rouge i con---- wait rouge?

i sped up the stairs only to find felix in front of our room standing what appeared to be guard i knew he was a traitor

i walked towards him and he looked to me bowing his head i went to reach for him until my eyes caught nova cradling a small pup in her arms who appeared no older then five i didn't pay attention to what she was saying and just watched her

i imagined the way she would hold my pup in her arms

the way she would cradle it, and care for it

that would have been my pup ... our pup

if that chance were to have never been ripped away from us

torn apart like a piece of paper in a shredded

it only took five seconds for that to happen five seconds and our pup was dead and nova critically injured

i will never make the same mistake again
