Goddess and Protector

Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

3rd Person POV:

Shelby ran faster through the trees holding onto her twin's wrist.

"Come on." She panted, her chest hurting. "We can't stop now, Carmel." Carmel only made a small movement with her head. A massive roar filled the silence in the forest. Carmel looked at Shelby wide eyed, clearly scared. Then, she tripped and fell over a tree stump, just barely visible on the ground. Shelby reacted quickly and reached out to her twin and caught her in her arms. Storming feet grew nearer. They were too late. The wild silver eyed demonic beast stood in front of them baring, growling his teeth at them. Shelby got up quickly, making sure Carmel was behind her. Shelby growled at the beast as he stepped forward and to the side reaching for Carmel.

"Don't you dare touch her or I swear- "Shelby was cut off when the beast's paw came swooping down and smacked her off to the side and into the tree, like she was a bug or something. Shelby heard the glass in her bag break. A scream escaped from Carmel's lips as the beast picked her up in his gigantic hand. "Carmel!" Shelby screamed and quickly got up ignoring the flaming pain in her side. Shelby held her hand out steadily and a mystic scythe appeared. Shelby wrapped her hand around it tightly and ran at the beast with full force and raised the scythe to swing back at the beast. But suddenly Shelby disappeared.

The beast looked around confused. With a war like cry Shelby reappeared behind the beast, with her scythe swing back behind her. The beast turned his head, just a bit too late, but his eyes widen of scarceness, just as his head was cut off his shoulders and his head tumbled to the ground. The fear never left his eyes. Shelby fell to the ground gently by his head and Carmel was released. The eyes of the beast looked into Shelby's crystal blue, ranged eyes and his reflected with all the fear more shown then before.

"Goddess and Protector..." Was all the silver eyed beast said before his head and his body vanished as did the scythe Shelby was holding by her side. Shelby just looked over at Carmel before running over to her, worriedly, her eyes turning back to their normal grey/ green eyes.

"Are you okay, it didn't hurt you did it?" Shelby asked, worriedly, checking over all of Carmel's body. Carmel only rested her hand on Shelby's shoulder, smiling weakly.

"I'm fine. But you on the other hand..." Carmel trailed off touching the small scratches along Shelby's face, and instantly they vanished. Then Carmel touched Shelby's side ever so lightly and the pain that Shelby had felt, instantly went away, like magic.

"H-how did you- "Shelby was cut off as Carmel placed a finger over Shelby's lips.

"Shhh...It's okay. Don't question it just accept it. I'm your twin and I will guard you with my life, I promise." Carmel smiled lightly before tugging on Shelby's hand. "Come on, let's continue our journey." With that both of the girls started walking again in silence.

So here's the first chapter of the story I was working on, please don't hate me for choosing to do something different then Magcon Fanfiction or Teen Fiction. I honestly enjoyed writing this.
