It all happened at once. Everyone was laughing and singing to the newest hit on the radio, passing a half empty bottle of gin around in the backseat. He was going to fast. The speedometer was inching towards 90 miles per hour. Nobody seemed to notice how the fast the trees were moving past the car. Or how everything seemed to be moving in a clear never ending blur.

"Hey, uh Johnny.. you need to slow down." I finally muttered from the passenger seat. Reaching up to grasp the handle above my head as Johnny flew down dirt road after dirt road.

"What, don't tell me you're scared Pierce." Johnny Spindel slurred from the front seat, glancing over to wink at me. A chill slithered up my spine. I was glad the date was almost over. He was the most pig-headed guy I'd ever gone with. The only reason I was still here was for Jenna, who had her tongue half way down Brad Monningham's throat while his hands groped her in ways that couldn't be comfortable.

Suddenly Johnny slammed on the breaks as he spun around a sharp curve, throwing Jenna and Brad on opposite sides of the car.

"What the hell Johnny?" Jenna gripped steadying herself in her seat. I glanced at the speedometer,  he was steadily going faster. The red dial passing ..90...95...100.

"Johnny slow down!" I urged. He was going to kill us all. He threw his head back and cackled. It was a wicked drunken sound and the fumes from his breath were enough to clear a room. He sped up twisting through turns and corners with a wildness in his eyes.

I looked out my window in a state of panic. The trees were no more than a blur passing at such a rate. I glanced down at my phone and briskly wrote out a text to my mom, explaining the situation and telling her how much I loved her just incase. I risked one more look back at Jenna before I hit send, who's eyes were wide staring out the window, she gasped. I then jerked around to see what she was gaping at and saw the deer, it's soft innocent eyes seeming to peer into my soul.

"Johnny look out!" I screamed. Johnny jerked the wheel and the world spun.  My out cry and final message to my mother was never sent.
