"Shadow are you in here?" I heard the voice of my best friend, and trainer Jax over the sound of my favorite song. I paused it.

"Where else would I be Jax? The surf right now sucks and I'm not feeling the group party tonight. Besides, I got kicked outta the place they're going tonight, remember? I got jumped and that son of a bitch tried to take me. Doesn't matter, this is where I'm staying. But you should go. Have fun. You're their leader, they look up to you."

"You don't actually think I would leave you here do you? Come on. We can go to a different bar. The one the BBS guys go to. Maybe you can meet him."

"Yeah because they're totally there tonight. You're insane. He has a big fight soon."

"So do you, and I can see it wearing you thin. Come on, you don't even have to do anything but listen to the music. Maybe they'll play that country singer you like."

"Bars like that don't play Brett Eldredge, Jax. But fine. I'll go, maybe I can pick up a new beat to sync hits with." I unwrapped my hands, my knuckles were bruised despite my efforts to take a break and let it heal, I can't keep myself out of the gym and even when I do I find myself hitting a bag somewhere. "Meet you back here in an hour? I have to put on street clothes."

"Sounds like a plan. Wear something pretty, just in case." He winked at me and I rolled my eyes. We went our separate ways and I got ready as quickly as possible. My hair was clean and it curls naturally so I just threw my Chicago Cubs hat on top of it. I threw on skinny jeans and a semi-sheer black tank top with a red and black plaid flannel tied around my waist and all black converse and dark eyed, red lipped makeup to match. I could be going skating just by my wardrobe for the night. My style is basically not having a style. Jax and I met up back at the gym and took his car. He brought a few of our guys who always manage to break me down and convince me to have fun. I stood square and always remained on alert ready for conflicts that could come up with no warning at all.

"Shadow! Hey lil mama lookin' good chica!" I laughed at Jesus as he spoke.

"Jesus have some chill. I dress like this regularly." Jake was next to speak.

"Shadow you know we kid. Loosen up we're going out!"

"I should be training." I sighed. "Lets go if we're going."

"Okay get in the car. We're going." Jax spoke as he hugged me. I got in his car and we all headed to what could be considered a bar or a restaurant depending on which door you walk in. On the ride over I made sure to post about it on Snapchat then found myself watching Brian Ortega's story.

"You're kidding. Abort mission." I knew he had heard the story. Team Black Belt Surfing would be the same place as us.

"No way. Now we're definitely going. What did your other celebrity obsession post tonight?"

"It's about the cubbies game next week. He's singing the anthem. I knew that though, that was why I chose game 1 of the division playoffs this year." Every year we go to at least one Cubs game but I like to go to more. Any time I can make it to Chicago I'm there. An old friend of mine, Javier Baez plays there.

"Right. Well. Let's hope the wildcard team doesn't beat the boys in blue." I rolled my eyes as I spoke.

"That won't happen. The cubs are winning the series this year."

"Anyone but the dirty birds works for me!" I laughed.

"Good point. Ross's last season will be one for the books though."
