"I'm telling you, it's a simple overlap. The ghosts will fade away soon enough." Jax said as she landed two punches into her punching bag, knocking dust everywhere.
"No. It can't be. This was way to vivid and complex to be the overlap of a ghost. And didn't we dust out all the ghosts by shattering that generator a couple years back?" I said as I landed three fast punches in mine.
"Yah, that one generator, there are many more. And if it's not a ghost, then what else could it be?"
*thud, thud*
"I have no idea and that's what worries me." I say as I kick my punching bag.
*THUD*
I slumped against the gym wall, Jax following a few seconds behind me. The gym was bare. Jax and I were the only two in here. We normally were the only two in here, no one ever bothers to go to gyms anymore because they can just take a pill and be up to physical standards, but Jax and I had always thought it was better to build the muscle yourself and naturally. It seems like there's a pill for everything these days and I know that none of them could possibly be healthy. We sat in complete silence as we watched the dust settle to the ground.
"So should we check it out?" Jax said after a few seconds.
"Well I would, but I have no idea where to start... who would have thought it would be so hard to find a thread on a planet like Earth? I mean Humans have one of the most distinctive timelines in this Galaxy, you'd think it'd be easy." I say.
"Yah. Hey did you hear about that psychic kid in branch 30?" Jax asked
"No. What about them?" I said.
"Apparently they picked 'em up from Earth. Weak looking kid I'll tell you that much." She replied.
"Well most psychics are. Wait, a psychic from Earth?" Physics from Earth aren't very common, so this surprised me.
"Yah. Don't worry he can only read Human minds, weaker than weak. I just can't see why the base wants him so badly. I know that psychics from Earth are rare, but if he can only read Human minds... Why do we need him?" Jax asked.
"If I have learned anything during my time on this ship, it's not to question the base." I reply, coldly.
