"Hello?" As she spoke into the phone the person on the other end could tell she was confused, "Hellooo?" "Hello sweet heart it's me, mum" she knew by the laugh at the end of that statement that her mum was obviously confused to, "Oh mum! I'm sorry i was so confused, your number came up on private and i though a random was ringing me! Aha" "its okay honey, timothy had my phone so he must have done something to it aha. Silly kid" "That's alright i understand completely" " you can help me change it back once you get here, because we all know what i'm like with this tech stuff aha" "Yea sure i can definitely do that" " So i was only ringing you to make sure that you got off your plane safe and sound" "yep i'm here safe and happy! I'm about to go and get my loan car, ill be leaving soon then before you know it I'll be right in your arms! I miss you so much mum" it had been 6 years since Betty had seen her mum or her dad. " i miss you too sweetie, i have to go now but ill see you soon" "okay love you mum, bye" "bye honey" That was the end of that phone call. Betty was a happy girl, always smiling and always caring, when she went to live in america she knew she'd miss her parents. But it was spring break, she HAD to see them! Betty had just finished packing the boot of her loan car when it started to rain, "god dammit! just what i need". As she hop in her car, a text from her brother; "Hey Betty its Daniel, hope you had a good flight. ill see you tomorrow xx" she replied "Yeah the flight was good, cant wait to see the family, ill give mum and dad hugs for you. xx" .
After driving for a while the rain had cleared and the sun was shining. Betty had so many nerves, so excited to see her family. all of a sudden she heard her phone beep, "i wonder who that is" as she bent over to pick up her phone she could feel her car veering onto the wrong side of the road but with a quick hand she managed to get back into her lane. She veered down at her phone, a text message from her mum, it read: "darling i will see you when you get here, have a safe drive. love always, mummy <3 xx" . She replied " I can't wait to see you love from 'Ugly Betty' xx <3" 'ugly Betty' her nickname since she was just a kid. Betty looked up from her phone, and saw another car right in front of her. Then, a boom and everything went black.
