Ring!

The bell sounds, releasing millions of kids from school.

"So, would you like to come with me to a party tonight, Bestie?" Raini nudges my arm as we walk out the front school doors. "Yeah! You are my bestie so... why not?! Here is my address." I say, excitedly. I grab a sticky note from my backpack pocket and grab a pencil, jotting down my address. I hand it to her and she giggles, "Okay, I'll pick you up at 8:00 pm... Sharp." I nod and wave goodbye as I walk down the sidewalk to my home. "Hey!" I hear a voice. "Hey Luke!" I swivel on my feet to the right, smiling wide as I see my favorite tall brunette best friend. I run to him, hugging him tightly. "How was school for you today, Laur?" He smiles that perfect crooked smile. Every time he calls me Laur...I swoon massively. "I made my first friend today aside from you." I blush. He chuckles, "That's great!" "I'm also going to a party with my new friend tonight. You can come with me if you want!" I cheer. He sighs, "I wish I could..." He starts. I frown, only to find him smiling. "Just Kidding. Of course I'll come!" "Great! Be ready by 8:00 though." I order. He agrees then walks across the street to his house.

-6 Hours Pass-

"I'll get the doorbell Sis!" I look at myself in the mirror one last time. A blood red high low dress with a sweetheart neckline, a pair of black ballet flats, and a black clutch. Not to mention my hair took a good hour to get it to curl elegantly. Cute, I guess. I jog down the stairs, and open the door. "Laura- Woah." He stands in awe. I feel my cheeks get hot and look down at my shoes, "Thanks. And you don't look too shabby yourself." He wore a light blue shirt, a black leather jacket, black denim jeans, and blue high-tops. I gesture for him to come in and I shut the door behind him. "Okay, so we are just waiting for Raini. I'm kind of excited for this party." "I can't tell." He snickers. I playfully hit his arm, "Ha ha. Very funny." I narrow my eyes, making him laugh even more. Then the doorbell goes off again. "Oh! It's Raini." I unlock the door and open it to reveal Raini. She wore a long white dress, sparkled silver heels, and had her hair straight. "Wow! You look gorgeous!" I compliment. "I know! And so do you!" She smiles. "Oh, I'm sorry on late notice, but I wanted to bring Luke." I point my thumb behind me. She shrugs, "Yeah, that's alright. Okay, come on let's go have some fun!"

I get out of the car and eye the house. Man, it is huge! You can even hear the muffled music outside. Oh, this is making me nervous! And when I get nervous I tend to- I cling onto Luke's arm and he wraps it around me, "Don't be nervous Laura." He whispers so I could only hear.

He knows me so well! Ooh! His arm is around me! Ahhh! I hold in my excitement as we three walk to the front doorstep. Raini knocks twice. The door squeaks open, "Hey you made it! And you two are?" A ginger haired boy looks at Luke and I, curiously. "They are the people I invited, Calum." She gritts out of her teeth. Realization strikes him, "Oh!" He allows us to come in. There are so many people! It seems like almost everyone are drunk off their butts. "Hey girl, how's it goin?" A boy slurrs to me. Luke tightens his grip around me, walking away from the drunk. We go into the bathroom, locking the door. "Ok, I'm officially scared!" I whine. Luke wraps his arms around me, kissing the top of my head. "Well, that me feel better." I mutter. Luke sniffles a chuckle. "Come on, let's get back out there. People are going start getting the wrong idea about us if we are in here for too long." Luke bites his lip. I nod, exiting the bathroom, still having his comforting arms around me throughout the entire night.

"Crap!" Luke curses, searching his back pant pockets. "What?" I ask, over the still loud music. "I forgot my phone! I need to run home and get it. I'll be right back." He then leaves me alone, darting out the door. "Alright, party is over! Everyone leave!" Raini shouts. Everyone boos and leaves the house. I start to head for the door, "No, wait. Laura stay here." Raini smirks. "Oh, ok." I sigh. "Laura I would like you to meet some of my friends." I hear a door lock behind me. I turn to see Calum with his foot against the door. "Raini, I really need to get home." I lie. "Not until you meet the rest of my friends." A girl with short brown hair and dark black eyes emerges from the hallway beside me. "I'm Maia. I'll be accompanying Raini tonight." Maia smiles, a little too innocently. A medium sized, brown eyed boy comes out of the hallway as well. "I'm Ryland." He failed my hair with his nimble fingers. I jerk my head away from him. "So, what did I miss?" I hear footsteps behind me. "Nothing, you are just in time for Laura's beating. Beating? I turn around slowly, looking at a tall boy. I first notice his beach blond hair with slicked bangs. Then I look directly at what he is wearing. A black shirt, black denim jeans, and yellow converse. Then our eyes meet, my chocolate brown eyes with his hazel ones. Something clicks. We stare at each other for the longest time. He looks at me, curiosity in his eyes. "Hello? Earth to Ross?" Maia waves a hand in front of his face, making me blink and snap back into reality. "Sorry." He mutters. "Okay, is someone going to throw a punch or..." Ryland questions. "I will." Raini volunteers. Raini spins me around so I'm facing her. She then slowly throws her arm back. I brace for impact as she starts to near her hand with my face. A couple seconds later, I feel nothing. Still nothing. I open my eyes. Ross has an arm in front of me, him stopping Raini' s hand with his. She stumbles back a bit, shocked. "Woah, what do you think you are doing?" Maia scoffs. Ross looks at me and mouths, ' You are safe with me'.
