Synth ethics

introduction

When she left the world shouted in anger, but when time flew she made everybody hope and dream...

At a high school in Paris Jane was majoring in social economy in the early 2100's.

She is tall,strong and  loves running. Even though people tell her she doesn't look like the running type...

Surely enough she looks quite nerdy with her Doctor who t-shirts and, particularly her dorky glasses. But let's not judge the book by its cover. Doctor who was a tv show that came out in the early 2000s, but now 100 years later some considered it as a classic.

Because she won multiple trophies and medals from the different running competitions she has done, her trainer nicknamed her the Flash.

Her trainer was a young man in his early twenties. He was considered the best coach in the world by all students. He was a pretty short muscular man with brown hair and a square face. He was strict but fair.

Jane loved her school and her friends, among those friends there was Hannah. An even dorkier girl than she was, with her dark hair and her round face and glasses. She loved to think of herself as an elf. She was indeed pretty, tall and quite pale. Her pointy ears didn't help. The only thing hannah had in common with her was their love for fantasy ,sci-fi books and movies.

There was also Pyoter, but people called him Peter. He came from Russia. A thin and fragile nerdy kid who loved to read old Russian novels. He said it was the only way to remember his mother land.  A very sentimental and poetic dude. But he could finish a difficult math problem before you could even say "gymnastics" .

Let's just say that this group of friends weren't the "coolest" kids in school. But they didn't care much. They were best friends and that's all that mattered to them.

The school they went to was pretty normal. The only particularity was that it was next to an old and humid cathedral and for some odd reason it had American style lockers. And nobody knew why. People suspected that it was because of the director.

The director was hated by the students and every  professor because everyone knew that he was director only for the monetary profits of it.
He didn't care one bit about the students.

The director made a speech, the same as every year, at the beginning of school year. Jane was there with her friends smiling at them, happy to see them again after the long and boring summer vacations. Knowing the speech by heart she loved to mumble the words at the same time as the director did. But she was surprisingly stoped by a total change in speech: - I have to remind you that this high school promotes equality towards everybody even robots and synths. Isn't that right mister Falls ? - said cheerfully the director.
-I would rather not speak my opinion on the subject, mutered mister Falls
-Of course, I understand- replied the director.
The director's addition to his speech made some students disgusted by this idea of equality. While Jane was filled with hope and a big smile on her face.

She walked with  her friends towards this huge bulletin board where she found the list of PTs for each class.  She saw a crowd of students in front of this bulletin board smiling or sighing because of the class they were in. She was in Economics 2 and her PT was mister Falls, that emblematic figure she saw during the director's speech. She didn't trust him as to her he looked suspicious... She didn't know what was wrong but there was something out of the ordinary about mister Falls. She was going to learn a lot more about him in the future....
