My first four classes, Homeroom, Geometry, and Spanish, passes rather quickly . I was too zoned out to remember anything. I was just excited to go to lunch.

Where you sit at lunch is essential to where you get placed in the social ladder. The cafeteria was split into three sections: the geeks, the normals, and the populars. The geeks sat near the trash cans, the normals sat near the exits, and the populars sat in an elevated section where they could overlook the rest of the students. But because there were two lunch periods, only half of the school was at 5th period lunch.

I quickly got into the lunch line to grab my food, which I later would learn was a big mistake. Since I just happened to join the line right before the populars. I was able to hear their whole conversation.

After I grabbed my food and I got out of there as fast as possible. I started to walk toward an empty lunch table in the "undefined" section, where none of the groups sat at. I took out my journal and decided to take observations of the students around me:

Geeks:
•Many wear Pokémon or Star Wars t-shirts.
•Makes weird puns that only they get

Normals:
•Reads romance novels during lunch
•Basic fashion and make-up skills

Populars:
•Not currently at tables
-will update more later

As I put my journal away, someone came up behind me and sat to my right.

"Hi! Are you new? Well of course you are new! I've never seen you before!" A girl with dark brown hair and olive skin started energetically, "Why aren't you sitting with anyone?"

"I haven't actually made any friends yet-." I replied.

"Oh. I know! You should sit with me and my friends!" She insisted.

"Ok, I guess," I said as I followed her reluctantly. She started to walk towards the normals when she made a quick left and walked up the stairs to the tables which the populars started sitting down at.

"Sit here." She demanded and patted the seat to the left of her. I sat down and looked around the table and then I saw him for the second time today. The gorgeous boy, the one I was hoping would show up again. The girl later introduced herself as Sophia Gonzalez, a star basketball player who planned on trying out for the Varsity team.

The closest people around me greeted me with kind words and told me their names. One blonde girl with grey eyes told me her name was Lucy Smith and that she was the captain of the freshman cheer team. The black haired and fair skinned girl to the right of her introduced herself as Candy Anderson and explained that she was a up and coming YouTube sensation. The next person to greet me was gorgeous boy who sat to my left; he told me his name was Daniel Parker but went by Danny. After lunch on my way to Chem.-Phys., Sophia told me that he was going to try out for captain of the freshman football team.

The rest of the day all I could think about was Danny. Not even Sophia's mindless babble could take my mind off of him.

Authors Note:

Thank you so much for reading chapter 2! Writing is one of the few ways that I use to escape into a world created entirely by me, it's a way for me to pretend like the bad things aren't really happening.

If you like my story please tell me, and if you feel I could improve, tell me on what I should do to better my story. Again thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this chapter!

Love,
-Parker
