Two more weeks. Two more weeks until the magical 18th birthday that a kid dreams of forever. I will be an adult, able to make my own decisions without asking my parents first, no curfew, life is going to be great.

These are my thoughts as I drive to school. Webber High School. It isn't a very big school. just a few hundred kids in each class and everyone knows everyone. Drama and rumors flow better than the water around here. Especially when it comes to the infamous bad boy, Dean. Some rumors say he does drugs, while another will say he is a saint. You never knew what someone would say about you just to get back at you, and before long the entire school would know. Luckily, I have gone all four years without an incident, other than being known as the mega Christian, nothing has been said about me.

As I pull into my parking space I see my best friend DJ siting on the hood of her bright pink Bug. It wasn't her decision to have a pink Bug, it was her mom's. She hates the color and is saving up money to get painted a different color.

I get out of the car and immediately DJ starts in on the gossip for the day. She loves and thrives on the gossip at this school.

"I heard that Dean isn't dating any one now. He broke up with Megan when she got mad that he wasn't paying attention to her any more. She is telling everyone he was interested in another girl but she doesn't know who, no one does. Are you even listening to me Allie!"

I had zoned out. That seems to happen more and more frequently lately. Even in class I will be sitting there and think I'm paying attention to the teacher when in reality I've been zoned out the entire time. I don't know what its about but I don't remember what I'm even looking at when I do or what I'm thinking. But I do know I hear everything because I haven't failed a test and no longer need to take notes.

"I'm sorry DJ. I zoned out again but I heard every word you said. I swear"

"You better have. I've been sitting on that information all morning waiting on you to get your ass to school"

"You shouldn't swear DJ. Its not good for your health. And what does it matter if he broke up with Megan or not. We need to focus on more important things. Like my birthday in two weeks. We have a party to plan or did you forget?"

"How could I when it is all you have talked about for a month? and I already have a few ideas for themes and stuff..."

And that is all we talked about the rest of the day until I got to my car. I didn't notice him there until I got right up to my car. Dean was leaning against my car. DJ stopped in her tracks and I was just very confused.

"Hey Allie."
